Best Place For All Your Baseball Bets
Betting during the MLB regular season is one thing, but fans get even more fired up once the playoffs arrive. Indeed, 12 teams make it to the postseason, all vying to make it to the World Series. We’ve seen some amazing series between clubs in the past, and only more will be on the way this year. So, what are the best MLB postseason betting sites to consider?
We take a look at that and much more in this piece.
Once the postseason does arrive, there will be countless odds for MLB fans to not only check out, but place bets on as well. Whether you want to make a wager on a single game, a series outcome, or a futures bet on who will end up winning the World Series when it’s all said and done, all of those options will be available for betting. And throughout the postseason, the baseball playoff odds will surely fluctuate.
Things only get more interesting as the field in the playoffs continues to shrink. At the same time, don’t be stunned if there’s an upset or two in the middle of the action. Remember the run the Washington Nationals went on in 2019 to capture the title? With all that being said, our recommended MLB postseason betting sites are reliable options for you to check out. This of course includes Bovada, BetOnline, and MyBookie.
Let’s take a look at why these bookmakers are that much better than the rest:
Bovada is a well-established sportsbook known for its extensive range of betting options on MLB games. With a user-friendly interface and competitive odds, it makes for an excellent choice for both novice and seasoned bettors. XBet is a user-friendly sportsbook that caters to baseball enthusiasts with its competitive odds and extensive MLB betting markets. The site features a sleek design, making navigation a breeze. XBet also offers live betting and a variety of promotions to enhance your betting experience.
BetNow provides a solid platform for betting on MLB playoffs, with numerous betting markets and fast payouts. The site is easy to navigate, and their bonuses are among the best in the industry. BetNow also offers a mobile app for convenient betting anytime, anywhere.
For playoff bets, it’s always going to be of the highest importance to keep in mind which teams performed well during the regular season and who captured division championships. Also, while everyone will be rooting for a Wild Card team to go on a deep run and take down the favorites, it’s not always going to be very common.
However, it’s not unheard of for them to win it all. In 2019, Washington was a Wild Card team, but then went on the dream run to the World Series.
They were massive underdogs against the Houston Astros, but their magic never ran out and they ended up winning in seven games. It was an exceptional World Series, with the Nats doing the unthinkable.
So, that tells you it’s not impossible for a Wild Card team to win the World Series. But, it’s also not a common occurrence. It’d be much wiser to bet on divisional champs than a Wild Card club.

For the playoffs, remember that three division champs from the American League and three divisional champs from the National League are in. Then, in both the AL and NL, you’ll have two Wild Cards who will face off first in a single-game playoff. The winner of that game will advance, while the other will be eliminated.
Then, both leagues will have four teams left, with the Wild Card team playing the No. 1 seed and the No. 2/No. 3 seeds meeting. That Divisional Round is a five-game series. The winners of that round will then meet in each league’s championship series. The winner of that seven-game series would then go on to the World Series.
So, if you’re high on the New York Yankees and think they’ll win the World Series, you can bet on them with confidence. If they finish the regular season as the AL East champs, and the best record in the AL, they’d be the No. 1 seed and host the Wild Card winners in the Divisional Round.
As we mentioned above, you’re going to have an incredible amount of odds to take a look at for the MLB playoffs. Once you’re feeling good about a team or player, you can go ahead and use one of our sportsbooks for your wagers. But, what exactly can you bet on during the MLB postseason?
For the playoffs, a futures bet is when you’re picking something to happen down the road. In the regular season for example, you could always lay down a futures bet on who you think will win the AL East and move on to the playoffs. Of course, the most popular futures bet is when you place a wager on who you think will win the World Series. You can also place bets based on the odds to make the MLB playoffs.
Say it’s July and the Chicago Cubs are playing extremely well and hold a seven-game lead in the NL Central. With the team performing so well, you have a strong belief they’ll carry their momentum into the fall and potentially win the World Series. That’s a futures bet you can make, which will have high odds because you’d be predicting the winner far in advance.
A prop bet is when you wager on something that’s outside from a straight-up bet or futures bet. A prop bet you could make a wager on for example would be how many home runs a certain player hits in the postseason. So, you might see a number for Yankees’ slugger Aaron Judge set at four homers for the entire playoffs. You could find similar prop bets for pitchers and how many strikeouts they have in the postseason as well.
With an over/under bet, the most popular is for how many runs will be scored in each game. In Game 1 of the divisional round, let’s say the Astros and Cards are facing off. The over/under could be set at 9.5 runs. If you take the under, the two teams would have to combine for nine runs or less for you to win. If the final score is 6-4, you’d lose that bet.
Home-field advantage and pitching matchups are two of the most important things to consider when making a postseason bet. If you have a pitcher getting ready to throw at home, and he has a 1.58 ERA against his opponent, chances are he’s going to lead his team to victory.
Also, in Game 1 of a series, a team is likely going to send out its ace first. That’s because they want to start things off on the right foot and keep the flow of its rotation. If that ace is at home too, taking him down will be much easier said than done.
Only 12 teams will advance to the MLB postseason, with three division champs and two Wild Card winners. The two Wild Card teams meet in a single-game playoff, with the winner of that game advancing to the Divisional Round against the highest seed in each league.
The winners of the divisional round then meet in the ALCS and NLCS, respectively. Those winners then move on to the World Series. The Divisional Round is a five-game series, while the ALCS/NLCS and World Series are both a best of seven.
Throughout the playoffs, you can bet on each series, starting with the Wild Cards. You can then make bets for each game, or take a look at the different futures bets/prop bets options.
Winning the World Series really is one of the most prestigious honors for a baseball team. The winner of the ‘Fall Classic’ has bragging rights for months. No team has had more success than the New York Yankees, who have 27 World Series titles in their incredible history.
They’re not the only team with numerous World Series rings, though. The Cardinals have won it 11 times, while the Red Sox and Athletics have nine victories. The Giants have won the World Series eight times, while the Dodgers aren’t too far behind with six.
From 2009-2019, the World Series winners, in order, are as follows: Yankees, Giants, Cardinals, Giants, Red Sox, Giants, Royals, Cubs, Astros, Red Sox and Nationals.
In terms of betting tips, our number one instruction is always to do your homework. Don’t approach the odds based purely on instinct or personal interest in the team. Check the background of the team involve and see if the odds offer the kind of value you desire.
Not just that, but sticking to your strategies. You can find a wealth of guides and information on our site about how to manage your funds and bet intelligently. Create or follow a strategy that offers consistency and a way to make repeated bets. No matter what happens with the odds, stick to your betting principles.
The division champs will have the best odds to go on a run
The run the Nationals went on in 2019 was historic. For a Wild Card team to win the World Series was amazing to see. However, the teams who win the East, West and Central in both the American League and National League will have the much better odds to win the World Series. Keep that under consideration before you place wagers during the postseason.
The MLB postseason is always fun to bet on
The MLB postseason never disappoints when it comes to entertainment. There’s always sure to be drama as well, with stunning upsets and walk-off homers. That’s why placing bets on games makes things even more fun too. For example, you could place a bet on the Seattle Mariners to win the ALCS. Well, in Game 7 of that series against the Red Sox, Seattle hits a walk-off homer to advance to the World Series. So, not only did you win your bet, but your favorite team just booked a trip to the Fall Classic as well. It’d be an incredible feeling.
