In terms of star power and show business fund there are few events that can rival the MTV Video Music Awards. This week is the 2024 edition of the star-studded event and XBet has rolled out the red carpet so to speak, with a variety of betting markets for you to check out. Of course, like most award shows, there is a premier award to check out for this year’s VMAs, which is the Artist of the Year award. Per XBet, the main favorite for this category is none other than superstar Taylor Swift at -500. Other categories highlighted include video of the year, song of the year, and beyond at XBet.

For this report, SBS will explore the latest gaming news coming from XBet along with more notes and information regarding the website and beyond.

XBet favors Taylor Swift to win multiple categories

Noted above and on the website, Swift is the favorite to win all kinds of hardware at this year’s VMAs. In the past, she has won a slew of VMA’s, including 23 total wins and 60 nominations. She has won the most Video of the Year awards at the MTV Video Music Awards with four (4x). Opposing her in this category will be Sabrina Carpenter at +400 who has been having an excellent year. Per sources, she opened for Swift on the Era Tour in 2023 and had her commercial breakthrough with her sixth album Short n’ Sweet (2024). This became her first to debut atop the US Billboard 200 and spawned two Billboard Global 200-number one singles.

Other notable entries in this category include Ariana Grande at +800 along with Eminem (+750). Both are very accomplished in their own right, with two different musical styles. The latter is known as a controversial figure, as he “came to be a representation of popular angst of the American underclass in the late 1990s and early 2000s.” Eminem is among the best-selling music artists of all time, with estimated worldwide sales of over 220 million records

Though she faces tough competition, Swift is also the favorite to take home the top honor of “Video of the Year” along with “Song of the Year,” Best Collaboration, and Best Pop Musician. Noted above, she has won a variety of awards at the VMA’s and of course, should be recognized as one of the best musicians in all of the field. Even with so many other awesome artists in the field, it will be interesting to see if Swift wins and how many she will ultimately win.

Benson Boone is a strong choice for Best Alternative

While Taylor Swift is certainly the headliner in multiple categories on XBet, there are some other different options you can definitely explore. The first includes the award category for Best Alternative Song. The current favorite as of this article’s writing is the song “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone at -500. Per one report, this song peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. Also, outside of the United States, “Beautiful Things” topped the charts in several other countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. While Boone is a strong favorite, there are some other notable favorites in this category like Hozier at +500, Teddy Swims’ song “Lose Control” (+750), and Imagine Dragons at +900.

In terms of other genres, the award for Best Hip-Hop Song currently is Megan Thee Stallion’s to lose at least according to XBet who favors the Stallion to win with “Boa” at -250. Opposing her will be Slim Shady with his song “Houdini” which is currently ranked at +175 to take home this honor. Other notables in this category include Travis Scott, Drake, and also Gunna as well with “Fukumean” tabbed at +1200.

SZA ranked as one of the VMA R&B top projected winners

Finally, for fans of R&B music, SZA’s song “Snooze” is ranked as the favorite from XBet to take home the honor of Best R&B song at -300. Victoria Monet is a close second here at +400 with her tune “On My Mama” while Tyla rounds out the pack with her song “Water.” Also included in this category are Alicia Keys and Usher, who are both mainstays when it comes to music award recognitions across the globe. However, this appears to be a big category where SZA is favored, but there could be an upset in the works on award night. Of course, all of these musicians bring a ton of amazing credentials to the table and should be battling it out at the VMA’s.
