Scheduled for later this week at Singapore Indoor Stadium, UFC 275 features two titanic title bouts. On the men’s side, UFC Light Heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira looks to defend his crown against former Rizin Light Heavyweight Champion Jiří Procházka. This bout was initially scheduled for UFC 274 but was moved to June as the headlining matchup. In the women’s division, UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko tangles with 19-1 Talia Santos in what should be a stellar showdown.
For this article, SBS will go over what to look for from each combatant, who has the edge, and who will ultimately prevail at UFC 275 in Singapore.

Fighter Spotlight: Glover Teixeira
The current UFC Light Heavyweight title holder, Teixeira, is one of the most grizzled veterans in the organization’s history. After winning the championship over Jan Błachowicz at UFC 267, the Brazilian became the oldest first-time champion in UFC history. With a career record of 33-7, Teixiera has established himself as one of the most imposing figures in his division, thanks to his diverse martial arts background. A former member of the Brazilian National Wrestling Team, he has competed in a variety of combat organizations from WEC to Shooto. The record holder for most finishes (13) and submissions (seven) in UFC Light Heavyweight division history, there are plenty of reasons why Teixeira has not lost since July of 2018.
Fighter Spotlight: Jiří Procházka
Opposing Teixeira in Singapore will be another talented fighter in former Rizin FF Light Heavyweight Champion Jiří Procházka. A former amateur Muay Thai kickboxer, the Czech mixed martial artist, has had a dominant run in the UFC thus far with back-to-back knockout victories. Prior to his start in the UFC, Procházka amassed a record of 26-3-1 across various organizations, including Rizin and Fusion FN. Known for his vicious knockout ability, the 29-year-old has already accrued an astounding 25 wins via knockout over the course of his career. What’s even crazier about this mark is he has won his last 10 fights by way of KO or TKO.
Prediction: The challenger has not lost since December of 2015, so will that change in Singapore against the champion? Not likely as Procházka’s dominant knockout ability will be on full display against the aging Teixeira.
Fighter Spotlight: Valentina Shevchenko
In the other title bout of the evening, Shevchenko will prepare for an astounding seventh title defense of the UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship. Since winning the vacant championship back in 2018 at UFC 231 over Joanna Jędrzejczyk, the 34-year-old fighter has dominated her division. Taking on all comers and not backing down from any challenges, Shevchenko’s title defenses include four KO/TKO wins along with two unanimous decision victories. Her last two bouts featured back-to-back TKO victories by way of some tactical elbow strikes. She will have a tough test against Santos on Saturday, but she has shown she can win against anyone if she is allowed to use her whole arsenal.
What to look for from Taila Santos
Perhaps the next big star in the women’s division, Santos is seeking her first-ever UFC championship in her matchup against Shevchenko. Coming off a Performance of the Night submission victory over Joanne Wood in November of 2021, the 28-year-old should be well rested for her bout against the champion. At 19-1, her record has few faults, but this will be her biggest test yet against the dominant Shevchenko. That said, since losing her UFC debut back in February 2019, Santos has ripped off a four-fight winning streak which also includes three unanimous decision wins.
Prediction: This should be set for another great bout, but if Shevchenko starts to get the momentum in her favor, look out. The champion should retain the title here.
