With UFC 261 barely in the rearview mirror, UFC betting fans are gearing up for UFC Fight Night 262. With the open Men’s lightweight title on the main card, get ready for a lot of action. We have not seen a fight this close in a long time.
The main UFC 262 event is the lightweight match between Oliveira vs Chandler. Following them up as the co-main fight is the welterweight matchup between Leon Edwards and Nate Diaz.
Other matches on the main card include:
Lightweight: Tony Ferguson vs. Beneil Dariush
Women Flyweight: Katlyn Chookagian vs. Viviane Araujo
Featherweight: Shane Burgos vs. Edson Barboza
Preliminary Card
The preliminary card also has plenty of great UFC 262 bets. While they do not grab the same headlines as the title fights, it is a great idea to pay close attention here. These are tomorrow’s stars who will be challenging Connor McGregor in a few years. This is a fun way to do research and stay ahead of the UFC betting curve.
Check out these fights that will not grab as many headlines:
Middleweight: Ronaldo Souza vs. Andre Muniz
Middleweight: Jack Hermansson vs. Edmen Shahbazyan
Bantamweight: Matthew Christopher Schnell vs. Rogerio Bontorin
Women Flyweight: Andrea Lee vs. Antonina Shevchenko
Charles Oliveira
Charles Oliveira, the slight favorite in UFC 262 fight night, is a Brazilian mixed martial arts fighter who moved to the UFC in 2010. This lightweight champ hopeful holds multiple Ultimate Fighting Championship records. The most impressive is having the most submission wins (14) in the history of the organization. He is also tied for most finishes, at 16.
Oliveira is currently number 3 in the UFC Lightweight rankings. It is no surprise that he is so well-ranked. As a MMA fighter trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, his submission game is perhaps the best in the history of the UFC.
As the slight favorite of the night, you will make almost as much as you bet, depending on the UFC sportsbook that you’re using.
Michael Chandler
The other contender for the open Lightweight title is Michael Chandler. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, this MMA fighter brings everything he has to the octagon. He spent ten years in Bellator MMA, and has recently switched to UFC.
Although considered the underdog in this title fight, do not count him out yet. While his opponent is ranked third, Chandler comes in right behind at fourth in the UFC lightweight rankings. A difference that you will barely see reflected in the odds or in their actual chances of emerging victorious.
If you are going to parlay with an over/under round bet, do not expect this fight to end in the first round. These fighters are very equally matched and with Oliveira’s predilection for submission fighting, this match will not be a quick KO.
