MMA is the perfect sport to bet on because so many fights take place on one night. UFC 248 is no different with several major battles set to take place on March 7 at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. Were opting to bet on five favorites, which pays out approximately +770. Here are our UFC picks.
Israel Adesanya takes on Yoel Romero in UFC Middleweight Championship and is a hot favorite to retain his title. Bovada, where you can grab a $250 welcome bonus, prices an Adesanya victory at -280 and it is easy to see why.
Adesanya is a machine. His current record is 18 fights, 18 victories with 14 knockouts. Amazing!
Its not like Adesanya has only fought bums, hes taken on the best the UFC has to offer. His last five fights have been either Fight of the Night or Performance of the Night. Hes swept aside Brad Tavares, Derek Brunson, and Anderson Silva.
Adesanya then won the interim UFC Middleweight Championship with a unanimous decision against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 236, a result we correctly predicted here in a successful parlay bet. He then won and unified the UFC Middleweight Championship with a second-round knockout (punches) over the talented Robert Whittaker at UFC 243.
If we only had to make one UFC 248 predictions it would be Adesanya to win at -280.
Yoel Romero is no slouch but he is seriously outclassed in this fight. Romero has lost three of his last four fights, including two by decision against Robert Whittaker, who Adesanya knocked cleanout.
Romero is now 42-years-old and it looks like his best days are way behind him. Dont be tempted by the long +220 odds because Romero is almost certainly going to be on the receiving end of serious lesson from Adesanya.
The Womens Strawweight Championship belt is on the line when Zhang Weili defends her newly acquired title against polish star Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
Weili (-190) is fighting only for the third time in the USA due to a visa issue. She has won on both her previous visits. She is the master of submission and that could be an issue for Jedrzejczyk who has had to shed 10lbs to drop back down to Strawweight.
Another of our UFC fight 248 picks is Beneil Dariush (-170) to beat Drakkar Klose (+140). Kloses last seven fights have gone the distance. Only three of Dariushs last nine battles have done the same. Dariush will come out of his corner all guns blazing and its difficult to see how Klose will defend against the onslaught.
Were going for a Li Jingliang (-170) victory over Neil Magny (+140) simply because he has returned to form. Five wins from six fights, including three Performance of the Night, show Jingliang is the man to wager on in this fight.
Finally, out last UFC 248 pick is Alex Oliveira (-150) to prevail against Max Griffin (+120). Both fighters are in indifferent form, Oliveira losing four of his last six and Griffin the same, but Oliveira is the better fighter and one who can stop a fight early. Griffin hasnt had a fight not settled by decision since November 2016.
Wagering $10 at Bovada on our five-fight parlay returns $77.09, which is a decent return on something extremely likely to happen. Why not check out our leading sportsbook partners and see if they have any UFC 248 betting specials of bonuses for you to try?
