Sliding into week 13 of the college football season, the MAC features some excellent battles with squads duking it out for conference title supremacy and bowl eligibility. In the featured showdown of the weekend, Ohio squares off against Toledo in a contest of 7-3 squads with almost mirror conference records. As of this article’s writing, both teams have a chance to take home the MAC title hardware, if they can finish the regular season on a plus note. Meanwhile, Buffalo travels to Eastern Michigan for a battle with the Eagles. Buffalo, already clinching bowl eligibility at 6-4, has an outside shot of the MAC title too, and would like to take home this nice road win. However, Eastern will not go quietly into the night as they look to lock up bowl eligibility as well.

In this article, SBS will be going over what to look for from the latest gaming news coming from the world of college football and also some additional thoughts regarding NCAAF bets.

NCAA Football Game One Overview

Team Spotlight: Ohio Bobcats

Following three straight blowout wins, the Bobcats are rolling along at this point and are in prime form to take on the Rockets on the road. In Ohio’s last game, the Bobcats trounced Eastern Michigan to the tune of 35-10 at home. Ohio quarterback Parker Navarro has been up and down this season with 1,636 passing yards, seven passing scores, but also eight picks to date. Running back Anthony Tyus III has been the most consistent focal point of the rush offense though with 726 rushing yards along with seven touchdown scores. Meanwhile, receiver Coleman Owen is closing in on a 1,000-yard season which would be awesome for the Bobcats as he has benefitted the most from Navarro’s production to the tune of 882 receiving yards and five scores. With a 5-1 conference record, Ohio is in second place in the MAC standings.

Team Spotlight: Toledo Rockets

Opposing the Bobcats this week are the Rockets who could soar up the standings with a critical win over their in-state rivals. Sitting at 7-3 on the season with a conference mark of 4-2, Toledo has an outside chance of making a run at the conference title with a critical home matchup here. The Rockets offense is led by quarterback Tucker Gleason who has been very strong at times this season with 2,032 passing yards and 19 touchdown scores to just seven interceptions. While Toledo has had some hiccups at times this year, they have lost only once at home this season (Bowling Green, 41-26) and are coming off back-to-back victories, including a 27-point win over Central Michigan last week. In addition to a strong home mark, they also are the only team to have defeated conference-leading Miami (OH) which was at home at the beginning of October.

Prediction

In perhaps the best MAC game of the week, take Toledo to defend its home turf in this game in a nail-biter.

NCAA Football Game Two Overview

Team Spotlight: Buffalo Bulls

The Bulls come into this game with a mark of 6-4 and a mark of 4-2 in “MACtion.” Buffalo is fresh off a thrilling 51-48 overtime win over Ball State at home and will look to parlay this momentum into another victory at Eastern. While the Bulls hid the skids earlier this year with back-to-back losses against Western Michigan and Ohio, they have since rebounded winning back-to-back games. Moreover, Buffalo also maintains a win against MAC conference title contender Toledo, with a 30-15 win at home earlier this season. Quarterback C.J. Ogbonna has been strong at times this year with 1,791 passing yards and 13 passing scores.

Team Spotlight: Eastern Michigan Eagles

Opposing the Bulls this week are the Eagles and they have a strong passing attack of their own. Eastern has a strong passer in quarterback Cole Snyder who has accrued 2,242 passing yards and 12 touchdowns this season. With an overall mark of 5-5, the Eagles would like to improve on their conference record of 2-4 and also snap their current three-game losing streak. That said, two of those three losses have come by one score as well.

Prediction

Another back-and-forth duel, take Eastern to take home the victory here with some home cooking in Michigan.
