Week 6 of the NFL kicks off on Thursday evening with Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking on the Philadelphia Eagles.
Both these sides won in Week 5 and will be looking to keep their momentum going when they square off at ‘The Linc’ in Philadelphia live on prime-time TV.
After last weekend’s results, defending champions Tampa Bay is still the second favorite in the latest betting to win the 2022 Super Bowl.
There has been a change at the top of the betting though.
The Buffalo Bills have replaced Kansas City Chiefs as the betting favorites with top sportsbooks. While following their defeat to the Bills, the Chiefs are now down to third in the betting.
Outside of that, not much has changed!

There’s no doubt Buffalo’s win over Kansas on Sunday will have made the rest of the NFL sit up and take note.
But Tampa Bay can’t let them bother them, and they can only focus on what’s in front of them, and that’s the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles have a modest record in the NFC East this season. So far they have won two and lost three.
The strange thing is that the two wins have both come on the road. As yet, the Eagles are yet to taste victory at The Linc.
All-in-all, it’s not a record to strike fear into Bruce Arians’ team.
As for the Buccaneers, they have a 4-1 winning record this season. At home, they are three-zero, while away they have a 1-1 record.
Their sole defeat came at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams (34-24) on Week 3.
Since then they have won 19-17 away at the New England Patriots in Week 4. And they followed that up with a 45-17 demolition of the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
No prizes for predicting that Tampa Bay are the favorites with top sportsbooks. Here is the odds from BetUS for all the main markets for Thursday’s match…
Spread
Moneyline
Total Points
Starting with the betting for the spread, and for this Thursday’s fixture, it’s set at 7.
That’s quite a testing call to pick on the back of Tampa Bay’s last two away results.
In neither of Tampa Bay’s two away matches this season have they won by 7 points or more. But at the same time, it also wouldn’t surprise if they beat the spread in this match.
Either way, this week I’m going to leave that market alone and look elsewhere.
On the Moneyline, it’s more clear cut. Tamba Bay is expected to win this, and the betting odds reflect that.
Does Philadelphia have a chance? Of course, and they have a quarterback of their own doing some good work at the moment.
At almost half the age of his illustrious opposite number, Jalen Hurts is having a decent season, and he was the difference between the Eagles winning and losing last weekend.
Hurts seems to be one of these guys that turns up and performs at the crucial moments.
It’s one thing doing it against the Carolina Panthers though. And quite another to do it against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Yes, if Tampa Bay isn’t on song this Thursday, Jalen Hurts is good enough to cause them problems. I just don’t see the Buccaneers giving him that chance though.
Tom Brady continues to perform at a level every week that defies his 44 years. And with Brady at the heart of everything they do, I can only see another win in this match for the Buccaneers.
Next, let’s have a look at the Total Points market, and this looks far better value than the spread.
For this Thursday’s match, Total Points is set at 53.5.
As I’ve already alluded to, there is plenty of offensive quality on view in this match.
Also, a quick look at Tampa Bay’s results this season shows that their matches have gone higher than the 53.5 Total Points line on four out of five occasions this season.
As for the Philadelphia Eagles, their matches have seen them go over the same mark on two occasions out of five.
The two teams combined total points this season stands at 56.4 though, showing that the sportsbooks have got their points mark set pretty well.
And with Tampa Bay set to be the side dictating the proceedings, I’m expecting to see the Total Points line beaten on Thursday.
Therefore my NFL betting pick for Philadelphia Eagles against Tampa Bay Buccaneers is for over 53.5 Total Points to be scored.
