Offseason Of Change In MotoGP

It was a winter of change on the MotoGP circuit. And the moves involved some of the major contenders in the 2025 MotoGP picks.

Start with Marquez. The six-time world champion joined two-time champ Bagnaia to form a super team with the Ducati Lenovo factory team. They’ll both be riding what were the dominant bikes in last year’s series.

Even as he was riding his way to his first career MotoGP world title, reigning champion Martin was already intending to leave the Prima Pramac team. He’s now riding for Aprilia. Prima Pramac also underwent change. Leaving Ducati, they are now racing Yamahas.

Enea Bastianini, who was Bagnaia’s teammate with Ducati Lenovo, is now with the Red Bull KTM Tech 3 team.

Let’s look at the top contenders for the MotoGP World Championship title.

Marc Marquez (-400)

Between 2013-19, no rider dominated in the MotoGP picks like Marqurz. He won all six of his world titles during that seven-year span.

A series of serious injuries slowed him and put the Spaniard out of action for quite a spell of time. Last season, he left Honda for Gresini, a Ducati satellite team. Riding year-old equipment, he finished third in the series championship standings. That was his best showing since Marquez won his most recent title in 2019.

Francesco Bagnaia (+350)

The 2022 and 2023 world champion, Bagnaia was the betting choice in last year’s MotoGP picks and for much of the season was living up to that billing. He won 11 races during the season.

However, he retired from four races and missed the podium in another. That was enough to allow the more consistent Martin to slip past him. This year, Bagnaia says there’s much he can learn from pairing with six-time world champ Marquez.

Alex Marquez (+800)

So far this season, every lap of a MotoGP race has been led by a member of the Marquez family. When Marc wasn’t out front in the Thailand GP, Alex was.

Marc passed him on Lap 23 to win the race and that about summed up Alex’s career. In 90 MotoGP starts, the Gresini Racing rider is still searching for his first victory.

Jorge Martin (+2200)

There was a concerning launch to Martin’s career with Aprilia. A pair of accidents during preseason testing resulted in the Spanish rider suffering a serious wrist injury.

The defending champion missed the Thailand GP and will also miss the Argentina GP. That’s resulted in his odds in the MotoGP picks lengthening to +2500.

MotoGP Picks Winner

Last season, Marc Marquez was able to give the best bikes on the circuit all they could handle while riding inferior equipment. In the 2025 season opener, now aboard the Ducati factory bikes, Marquez saw the back of no one at the finish line. He won both the sprint and the main event.

It was his 112th MotoGP win. Marquez became the first Ducati factory rider to win his debut race since 2007. In doing so, the veteran showed everyone on the circuit just how tough he is going to be to beat. Take Marc Marquez to win the world championship in the MotoGP picks.
