The NFL is back for week 13 of the regular season as the San Francisco 49ers travel to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in a huge Sunday night football clash.
The Eagles have had a unbelievable season so far with a 10-1 record heading into this game, while the 49ers have been excellent too with a fantastic 8-3 record themselves.

Philadelphia have been on an absolute role this season, picking up where they left off last season when they dominated until falling at the last hurdle.
The Eagles won their first five games of the season beating New England Patriots 25-20, Minnesota 34-28, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 25-11, Washington Commanders 34-31 in overtime and Los Angeles Rams 23-14. Their first defeat and only defeat of the season came on the road at the New York Jets 20-14 in week 6.
But they have since bounced back with a 31-17 win over Miami Dolphins, 38-31 win over Washington again and then a 28-23 win over the Dallas Cowboys before a bye in week 10.
They then took on the Chiefs in a rematch from last year’s Super Bowl and claimed a stunning win on the road as Jalen Hurts put in a fantastic performance, before another overtime win over the Buffalo Bills last time out to continue their excellent record.
The 49ers started their season in sensational form with five straight victories over the Pittsburgh Steelers (30-7), LA Rams (30-23), New York Giants (30-12), Arizona Cardinals (35-16) and Dallas Cowboys (42-10).
But something seemed to change and San Francisco fell to three consecutive defeats as the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals before they had a bye week to recharge and reset.
Since then they have ticked off three wins in a row by defeating Jacksonville Jaguars (34-3), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (27-14) and Seattle Seahawks (31-13) to come into this making them favorites for the game.
What a game, the best team in the NFL against a 10-1 team with the best record in the league.
The Eagles have been out-gained by at least 98 yards in four straight games, and they’ve won each one. The Bills out-gained them by 127 yards, and the Eagles defense couldn’t get off the field. If that pattern continues against the 49ers then their win streak will almost certainly end too.
The Eagles are 7-1 in one-score games, with five of those coming against teams at .500 or worse.
49ers are No. 2 in overall DVOA and the Eagles are 10th, while the Niners offense is No. 1 in DVOA and No. 1 in the passing game, and that unit is lapping the field since Week 8.
The Eagles, meanwhile, are 19th against the pass and trending downward. They invested heavily on the D-line and cornerbacks, but there’s a lack of presence over the middle of the field. Ironically, that’s where San Francisco thrives on both sides of the ball.
This is what we waited all season for last year, then the 49ers’ top two QBs getting hurt ruined it. San Francisco are a fantastic bet here even though they’re favorites, so get on them early.

San Francisco have allowed 15.45 points per game this season, while the Eagles have given up 21.2 points per game this season despite their incredible win record.
Neither team has given up more than 82 yards rushing. Meanwhile, the Niners have held teams to 213.27 yards in the air. That’s ultimately why the 49ers are favored on the road against the Eagles.
If any defense can stop Philadelphia, it’s the Niners. That defensive line for San Francisco is the best in the NFL. They also have a terrific secondary and have done exceptionally well against the run.
On the other hand, the Eagles have allowed some big scores recently defensively. But they held two of the best offenses in the league in the Chiefs and Dolphins to just 17 points.
Meanwhile, the 49ers still have a -1 turnover differential. The Eagles have a slight edge in the turnover battle, but not huge. While Philadelphia has the more mobile quarterback, the 49ers have still earned more rushing yards per game.
The two defenses are strong and when two top teams meet, it’s usually more about not giving up opportunities to the opposition than it is about going all out for the win. The under makes a lot of sense here.
