This Saturday the Estadio de La Cartuja hosts the 2023 Copa del Rey final between Real Madrid and Osasuna. Madrid are the betting favorites, and they are also the ultimate cup winning soccer team. Can they do it again? Let’s take a look with our latest soccer betting picks.

2023 Copa Del Rey Final Betting Picks

Real Madrid are looking for their 20th Copa del Rey win, and their first title since 2014. It’s remarkable to think that a club like Madrid hasn’t won this trophy for nearly ten years. Back in 2014, they defeated major rivals Barcelona 2-1, in what was the last time that Los Blancos even reached the final.

As for Osasuna, they’ve never won the trophy. The closest they came was in 2005, when they lost 2-1 to Real Betis, after extra-time.

Latest Betting to win the Copa del Rey

And unfortunately for Osasuna, the odds from the best soccer betting sites don’t give them much chance of winning their first Copa del Rey this weekend either. Even though this isn’t the Spanish league championship, the best La Liga betting sites are still pricing this match up, and they are only expecting another trophy for Los Blancos.

In 90 minutes betting, Real Madrid are -250 to win on the moneyline. The draw is +390, and a win for Osasuna is +660. In betting to win the Copa del Rey outright, Madrid is -550, with Osasuna at +350

In other props markets, over 2.5 goals is -167, with under 2.5 at +130. For both teams to score, yes is -110, and no is also -110. More details about the betting sites listed on our Copa del Rey odds table below can be found on our best online sportsbook reviews page.

Route to the Final

Now, let’s take a brief look at how the two sides made it to the final, starting with the legendly Real Madrid.

Comeback Kings Real Madrid

Madrid didn’t enter the Copa del Rey until the Round of 32. In this round, Los Blancos were up against Cacereno, and a makeshift side labored to a 1-0 win over the minnows. In the Round of 16, Carlo Ancelotti’s side found themselves 2-0 down to Villarreal at half-time. A magnificent second half performance saw Madrid fight back to win the match 3-2.

Then in the last eight, Madrid then had to see off local neighbors Atletico. Goals from Rodrygo, Benzema, and Vinicius Jr sealed a 3-1 win after extra-time, setting up a huge semi-final clash with chief rivals, Barcelona.

The Catalans won the first leg 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu, and looked to have completed the hard part of the job. Then in the second leg at the Camp Nou, Madrid pulled off a remarkable 4-0 win thanks in the main to a hat-trick by Karim Benzema.

Success on the road for Osasuna

Osasuna started their route to the final with a 4-1 road trip win over Fuentes in Round 1. They then defeated Arnedo 3-1 in the second round, again on the road, to set up a Round of 32 clash with Gimnastic. Here, a fiery clash against the third-tier team was decided in extra-time by an own goal from Eric Montes.

The 2-1 win set up a clash with Real Betis. In what was Osasuna’s fourth successive road trip in this year’s cup, Jagoba Arrasate’s team needed a 91st minute equalizer from David Garcia to force extra-time. After falling behind for the second time in the match, Osasuna needed a goal from Ruben Garcia after 106 minutes to force the match to penalties, which Arrasate’s team won 4-2.

The last eight fixture saw Osasuna beat Sevilla 2-1 at the El Sadar, this was the teams first home match of the cup run. They then defeated Athletic Club in the semi-final. Arrasate’s team won the 1st leg at home 1-0, and then Pablo Ibáñez scored in extra-time of the second leg, making the match 1-1 on the night, and securing Osasuna’s 2-1 aggregate win and place in the final

Our Winner Picks

Madrid may have one eye on next week’s Champions League semi-final 1st leg against Manchester City. But even with City on the horizon, it’s just so hard to back against Real Madrid in a cup. As their run to the final shows, they just never seem to know when they are beaten. And a bit like last year’s Champions League run, it just looks written in the stars that Madrid is going to win the competition outright.

At odds of -550 to win the trophy, Madrid look too short. A win inside regulation time looks better value, where Madrid are -250 with BetOnline

Another market we like the look of is over 2.5 goals. We can see Madrid winning this match with a bit to spare. Over 2.5 goals looks a touch short at -167, so we’re going to combine it with a Real Madrid win. At odds of -110, a bet on Real Madrid to win and for there to be over 2.5 goals could be the bet with Bovada.
