UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship Matchup Overview: Amanda Nunes (c) vs. Irene Aldana

Fighter Spotlight: Amanda Nunes

If you are looking at maximizing your UFC 289 betting experience, look no further than this championship match between the legendary Nunes and challenger Aldana. Ranked as the No. 1 fighter in the UFC women’s pound-for-pound rankings, the 34-year-old is widely recognized as the best female fighter of all time. In her last bout at UFC 277, Nune was able to knock off her rival Peña in unanimous decision fashion and regain her Bantamweight Championship. With a career record of 22-5 with 13 knockout wins, the Brazilian fighter has taken on all comers and emerged victorious.

Fighter Spotlight: Irene Aldana

Opposing the champion will be the No. 5 ranked fighter in the UFC women’s bantamweight rankings, Aldana. Coming off back-to-back wins, this is the Mexican fighter’s biggest bout of her career to this point. With a career record of 14-6 with eight knockout wins, the 35-year-old put together a Performance of the Night outing in a KO win over Macy Chiasson at UFC 279. A competitor with multiple Fight of the Night/Performance of the Night outings to her credit, Aldana will certainly make things interesting in British Columbia.

Prediction: This matchup will be an interesting one as the only competitor really working against Nunes at this point is Father Time. That said, the Brazilian is actually the younger competitor here and the more distinguished, so take the champion to retain her title

UFC Men’s Welterweight Contest: Charles Oliveira vs. Beneil Dariush

Fighter Spotlight: Charles Oliveira

Another fighter that has been or close to, the top of his weight class for some time, Oliveira is looking for a rebound performance against Dariush. Back in October of last year, the Brazilian fighter took on Islam Makhachev for the vacant UFC Lightweight Championship. In the bout between the decorated fighters, Oliveira came up short with Makhachev putting him away in the second round via an arm-triangle choke. That said, the product of the legendary Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lineage is still one of the sport’s finest competitors. The 33-year-old has an overall record of 33-9 with an astounding 21 submission wins.

Fighter Spotlight: Beneil Dariush

Riding an eight-fight winning streak, Dariush is pushing to make the championship belt title stage if he can overcome Oliveira. Another fighter that has notched multiple Performance of the Night/Fight of the Night honors (five total), the American competitor is a skilled submission artist with eight total wins. However, in his last three fights, Dariush has won by decision, including unanimous wins over Mateusz Gamrot (UFC 280) and Tony Ferguson (262). A jiu-jitsu gold medalist, the UFC veteran will be up for the challenge when squaring off against Oliveira.

Prediction: A strong contender for fight of the evening, Oliveira should be able to notch the victory here in a hard-fought battle
