ncaab betting week 14

With the NCAA basketball season heading into the home stretch, many squads are still vying for seeding in the NCAA Tournament in March. In the Big 12 Conference, Texas and Kansas will have a heavyweight battle on Monday night in Lawrence as the Longhorns are aiming to stay in first place in the conference standings. Meanwhile in Florida, Duke is coming off a triumphant win over North Carolina at home and travels to face the top 25 Hurricanes in Coral Gables. In each of these matchups, there will be a lot of impact on future seeding ramifications for both teams not in their respective conference tournaments, but also regarding the NCAA Tournament as well.

For this report, SBS will be going over what to look for from each squad along with more thoughts and notes about college basketball betting

NCAA Basketball Game One Overview

Team Spotlight: Texas Longhorns

The reigning leaders of the Big 12, the Longhorns are having one of their best seasons in years and have been full steam ahead in the hunt for a regular season title. Texas is coming off a thrilling three-point win at Kansas State on Saturday night and is 4-1 in their last five contests against conference opponents. Moreover, they have done very well against ranked teams this year with wins over then-No. 2 ranked Gonzaga, No. 7 Creighton, No. 17 TCU, No. 11 Baylor, and No. 7 K-State. However, Texas’ only losses away from home this year have also been against ranked opponents in the form of No. 4 Tennessee (Jan. 28) and No. 12 Iowa State (Jan. 17).

Team Spotlight: Kansas Jayhawks

One of the blue-blood programs in college basketball, the Jayhawks are scraping together another strong season, but that has been filled with some tough misfires. Forward Jalen Wilson has been dynamic for the Kansas frontcourt with 21.5 ppg along with 8.6 rebounds per game. After starting the season 16-1, the Jayhawks have had some tough sledding in conference play with losses at rival Kansas State, home against TCU, and then on the road against the Baylor Bears. More recently, the Jayhawks were unable to get past the Iowa Cyclones on the road Saturday night, 68-53. That said, Kansas has lost only one game at home this season and is a spectacular team within the confines of Allen Fieldhouse.

Prediction: This game should be a great contest to start the week and will serve as a great bounce-back game for Kansas at home

NCAA Basketball Game Two Overview

Team Spotlight: Duke Blue Devils

A squad that needs little introduction, Duke is vying for another NCAA Tournament berth as it sits a game and a half back in the ACC standings. The Blue Devils are winners of three in a row, including wins over rivals North Carolina and Wake Forest. Duke center Kyle Filipowski has been the fulcrum of the Blue Devils’ attack leading the team in points (15.7 ppg) and rebounds (9.3 rpg). Moreover, Duke was able to get the best of the Hurricanes earlier this season in late January, winning by two points at home, 68-66.

Team Spotlight: Miami Hurricanes

A sharp-shooting team, Miami currently boasts one of the highest field goal percentages in the country at 48.2%. Guard Isiah Wong leads the squad in scoring at 16.2 ppg, but forward Norchad Omier is another one to watch, pacing the team with 10.1 rebounds per game which is one of the top marks in the ACC. As a team that is also one game behind in the conference standings, the Hurricanes have an outside chance at the regular season conference title. Currently undefeated at home, Miami could be in a great spot to knock off Duke here.

Prediction: The Hurricanes, coming off an emotional win over ranked Clemson, 78-74, should keep the good times rolling as they defend their turf in Coral Gables
