mybookie betting news february 2025

Following an electric campaign in 2024, the WNBA is back this year with some fantastic action queued up for May and MyBookie has the latest futures betting market in the league. Per the latest information on the site, the New York Liberty at +214 is tabbed as the early favorite heading into the 2025 campaign and repeat as WNBA champions. Following close behind are the Las Vegas Aces (+265) who feature the services of reigning MVP A’Ja Wilson. Meanwhile, the 2024 runner-ups, the Minnesota Lynx, are in a great position to come back and challenge the champions this season and be in a position to compete with the best in the league. Finally, the dark horse in the WNBA this season will be none other than the Indiana Fever who are led by perhaps the most entertaining player in women’s athletics in Caitlin Clark.

For this report, SBS will be going over what to look for from the latest gaming news coming from MyBookie along with some additional notes coming from SBS and beyond.

Liberty competing for a historic repeat championship

During the 2024 campaign, New York had a historic year, notching a fantastic record of 32-8 during the regular season. The Liberty has a great core of players that should buoy them for this season and includes the likes of Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, and also Jonquel Jones. Stewart and Ionescu especially are fantastic playmakers who have been stalwarts in the league for years. Last season, the veteran Stewart had a great campaign, pacing the squad in points per game at 20.4. Meanwhile, Ionescu notched 18.2 ppg of her own along with leading the squad in assists.

Last year, the Liberty entered the playoffs as the number one seed and hosted the eighth-seeded Atlanta Dream in the first round. Then New York would go on to face Minnesota in a rematch of the Commissioner’s Cup final in the WNBA Finals. With the series returning to New York for game five, the Liberty won, in overtime, giving the squad their first WNBA title in team history. This ended a streak of five Finals losses for the franchise.

Aces seeking a return to the championship contest

With two total championships, the Aces are one of the most successful franchises in recent memory after just being established in 2018. Last season, Las Vegas fell short of expectations following a successful stretch where they won conference titles in three of the past four seasons (2020, 2022, and 2023). This will be the fourth season under head coach Becky Hammon and they will tip off their season against the Liberty for their season opener. They are led by Wilson who has been perhaps the best player in all of the WNBA the past few seasons and have a couple of other fantastic pieces in Jackie Young and veteran Chelsea Gray.

The runner-ups from last season, the Lynx (+380 from MyBookie) have a fantastic opportunity to make history again this year if their talented pieces can stay healthy and stick together. A historically strong franchise, Minnesota has won five championships in its history, with its last coming in 2017. Last year, the Lynx notched a record of 30-10 and scored some sensational series wins in the playoffs over Phoenix and also Connecticut.

Fever are the dark horse team in the 2025 campaign

Finally, MyBookie has tabbed the Cailtin Clark-led Fever as perhaps the squad with the most upside at +460 to score a championship this year. A player who needs little introduction, Clark took the WNBA by storm last season following a highly decorated career at the University of Iowa. With one championship back in 2012, the Fever are looking to recapture this glory and perhaps score another title with Clark at the helm. Perhaps the most important star for the league in some time, Clark has helped boost ratings for the league overall and it has been an exciting time for followers of the team to be on board for.

Looking at the rest of the MyBookie rankings, there is a steep drop-off from the top four contenders per the site. Coming in after this cluster of top teams is the Los Angeles Sparks at +5000 and their betting odds are identical to that of the Atlanta Dream. The Seattle Storm and Chicago Sky are next on the list at +7500 as these four squads are angling to get up to the next tier of contenders in the “W.” Perhaps there is another surprise team in this list, there’s only one way to find out starting this May.
