Buffalo Bills v Kansas City Chiefs information

Buffalo Bills season so far

Buffalo have had a phenomenal season by their own standards, with one of the most potent offensive lineups in the entire league and the results to match.

The Bills went 13-4 in the regular season, including a final day defeat to the New England Patriots with their position as division winners and No.2 seed already confirmed. That was largely due to a big seven-game winning streak from Week 6 to Week 13, as they dominated opposition and scored 30+ points in eight consecutive games.

Their Wild Card round clash against the Denver Broncos saw more of the same as they ran rampant and turned in a dominant 31-7 win, not allowing any points against their defensive line after the first quarter.

That set up a huge clash with the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional round where they were on the verge of blowing a 21-10 half-time lead only for a failed two-point conversion late on to allow them to earn their first 10-0 home record since 1990.

Kansas City Chiefs season so far

The back-to-back Super Bowl champions are adamant they will become the first team ever to win three in a row, and their results and performances this season make it hard to disagree with them.

Despite a few questionable performances and a bit of luck, the Chiefs started the season with a sensational 10-0 run that saw them only allow more than 20 points on two occasions. But that run was ended by the Bills in Week 11, as Buffalo earned a 30-21 win at home.

The Chiefs responded to that perfectly though by going on another six-game winning run to claim their spot as No.1 seed. They lost their final game of the season in humiliating 38-0 fashion against the Denver Broncos, but most of the team was rested.

Kansas then took on the Houston Texans in their playoff game and cruised to what looked like a routine 23-14 win, but in reality they needed to score ten unanswered fourth-quarter points (not including a self-inflicted safety) and get some questionable referee calls to get the job done.

NFL Picks: Kansas City Chiefs -1 @ -114

The Kansas City offense struggled against the Texans, being outgained over the course of the game and getting some questionable calls, so it’s no surprise there is plenty of support out there for Buffalo to get the job done.

However, people seem to be overlooking just how disruptive the Kansas City defense and special teams were. The Chiefs recorded eight sacks, gave up only one touchdown, and blocked a field goal. They deserved their win.

The meeting between these two teams earlier in the season saw a not-so-surprising win for the Bills, but as has been evident for several years now – the Chiefs are just a different force in the post-season.

Patrick Mahomes is hell-bent on becoming the greatest of all-time and a three-peat certainly helps his cause, while the likes of Travis Kelce are also in fantastic form heading into this game. Defensively they look very strong and not a single soul would be surprised to see them get the win, so taking the spread to get a bit more value looks perfect.

NFL Picks: Under 48.5 total match points @ -115

Kansas put up a dismal 4.2 yards per play in the win over the Texans, and other than Mahomes to Kelce their offense looked short of ideas.

So it’s no shock that the defense is their best way of going to wins and the numbers support that they are prioritising that themselves. The Chiefs are 1-6 in the Over/Under count in their last seven overall and six of their last nine home games in the post-season have gone Under too. Seven of their nine home games this season have gone under 48.5 total points also.

Buffalo score a lot of points but the Chiefs will be doing all they can to slow them down and will want to avoid a shootout at all costs. The line could move down as more action comes in on the game, so take the Under at 48.5 points while it’s there.
