Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants information

Dallas Cowboys season so far

Dallas started their season well with a 33-17 win on the road to the Cleveland Browns, as Dak Prescott turned in an impressive performance despite being sacked three times to solidify their pre-season expectations as being a side that could compete for the title.

However, in week 2 they fell to a horror 44-19 defeat against the New Orleans Saints, and things then got worse in week 3 as the Baltimore Ravens pipped them 28-25 to condemn the team to a second consecutive home defeat.

The team bounced back in week 4 with a 20-15 win over the New York Giants thanks to a strong first-half showing, before a second consecutive win in week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers saw them come from behind.

Dallas followed that up with a clash against the Detroit Lions which saw them get absolutely thrashed 47-9, before a bye week allowed them to recharge. But that hasn’t had the desired effect and the Cowboys lost each of their next four games.

Trips to the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons saw them suffer narrow defeats, before more lopsided losses followed against the Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans. However, last time out they took on the Washington Commanders and claimed a 34-26 victory which saw an insane 41 points scored in the final quarter.

New York Giants season so far

New York didn’t have the best of starts at all, falling to a one-sided defeat against the Minnesota Vikings in week 1 – and that set the tone for how the season would go.

Week 2 wasn’t much better for them against Washington as they suffered yet another defeat, losing 21-18 despite having the lead at half-time. In week 3 they claimed their first win against the Cleveland Browns, before the team fell back into bad habits and were beaten by the Cowboys.

They snapped out of it in week 5 with a fine performance and a solid 29-20 win over the Seattle Seahawks, but since then things have just gone pear-shaped for the Giants.

New York managed to score just ten points in their next two games combined as they fell to 17-7 and 28-3 defeats to the Cincinnati Bengals and Eagles respectively, before a trip to Pittsburgh saw them well beaten also.

They made it close against the Commanders next but ultimately fell to a 27-22 defeat, before travelling to Germany for an international clash against the Carolina Panthers which went to overtime before the team fell to a 20-17 defeat again.

A bye followed that game to give the team a chance to recharge, but they returned to action in week 12 and were thrashed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-7 as head coach Brian Daboll faces big pressure for his job.

NFL Picks: Dallas Cowboys -4 @ 110

These two teams have already met earlier in the season and it wasn’t the most exciting game, so don’t expect much different here from sides that are struggling for an identity.

The Cowboys have won back-to-back Thanksgiving Day games, battering the Commanders 45-10 last year and taking down the Giants 28-20 in 2022. After upsetting Washington last time out and having the home advantage for this game, it’s no surprise they are favorites.

Dallas claimed a 20-15 win back in week 4 of the season and neither side has seen much joy since then, so it would be a big surprise to see a change in approach or performance after a shorter-than-usual turnaround too.

It also has to be mentioned that Tommy DeVito is going to start again, and there’s a reason he has become a laughing stock online. The Giants are now 0-3 in their last three games with DeVito at QB, with a -49 point differential in that run and they haven’t covered a spread in DeVito’s last three starts.

That seems highly unlikely to change, so jump on Dallas to do the business with a sizeable gap in their favor.

NFL Picks: Over 37.5 total match points @ -110

The game between these two sides saw 35 total points scored earlier in the season, but a lot of the trends are pointing towards this over landing.

The OVER has hit in five of the Cowboys’ last six home games while this points total has been surpassed in nine of their 11 games so far this season. Over 37 points have been scored in four of the Giants’ games this season, and three of those were when they were on the road.

With the holiday spirit in the air, expect a few more points than last time and for this bet to land.
