Week 6 in the NFL is upon us, and it promises to be another action-packed weekend of Gridiron.
This weekend I’m going to be looking at Sunday’s matchup between Kansas City and Washington. And then on Monday night the Buffalo Bills trip to Tennessee.
Before we get onto this week’s NFL picks though, wow, what a weekend Week 5 was.
I thought the Buffalo Bills had a great chance of beating the Chiefs, but I didn’t expect them to dismantle them in the fashion they did.
2022 Super Bowl Winner Odds | ||
---|---|---|
Buffalo Bills | +550 | +550 |
Tampa Bay Buccaneers | +600 | +650 |
Kansas City Chiefs | +700 | +700 |
The win has seen the Bills go top of the tree in the betting to win the 2022 Super Bowl. They have leaped up into the favorites spot with the sportsbooks, with Kansas City dropping down from first to third favorites.
Still sitting there as second favorites and quietly going about their business is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!
It’s amazing. While everyone else seems to be raving about the Bills and the Chiefs, Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay team keep churning out the wins!
After last weekend’s mauling at the hands of Buffalo Bills, the Chiefs will be hoping for a quiet day at the office when they visit Maryland to face Washington.
The Burgundy and Gold sit second in the NFC East. And with a 2-3 record this season, Ron Rivera’s team isn’t one to strike fear into the better teams in the NFL.
As for the Kansas City Chiefs, they will be looking to bounce back quickly from last weekend’s chastening defeat.
The Chiefs are also 2-3 now this season. But they possess far more quality and pedigree than Sunday’s opponents, which is reflected in the betting odds.
In the betting, the Chiefs are pretty short to win on the Moneyline. Better value can be found with BetUS on the spread and total points markets.

Total Points
Starting with the spread, and the Chiefs are going into the fixture at -6.5 points.
One score sounds about right here. And in all honesty, if Kansas is to be serious contenders this season, they have to be beating the spread.
For my first betting pick on this match, I’m going for Kansas to beat the spread.
On the Total Points line, over 54.5 points have won in four of the five matches played by Kansas this season.
The match which didn’t beat the line was between the Chiefs and the Chargers when they managed 54 points.
In Washington matches, over 54.5 points have also come in four out of five times.
The one occasion it didn’t? Yes, you’ve guessed it. It was when they played the Chargers! What is it about that team?
I’m taking the spread to be beaten here, and at -110, over 54.5 Total Points is one of my weekend NFL picks.
We have to wait until Monday night before we see the Buffalo Bills in action again.
Tennessee Titans await Sean McDermott’s NFL form team. And it will be fascinating to see how they perform after their excellent win last weekend over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Was last weekend’s win as good as it gets for the Bills? Or is there more to come?
I believe McDermott will be more than happy to get any sort of win in this match. We’ve seen it many times before in plenty of different sports.
A side – or individual – pulls off an incredible win and then can’t follow it up in their next performance.
Let’s take a look at the betting odds from Bovada for Monday’s fixture.
Spread

Total Points
The spread here looks very appealing. The Bills have won all four of their matches by significantly more than 6 points.
As for the Tennessee Titans, they have a 3-2 record so far this season. In their last match, they were convincing winners over the Jacksonville Jaguars (19-37).
But it’s hard to read too much into that fixture as the Jaguars are 0-5 this term!
I’m expecting the Bills to continue on their excellent run this weekend, and for my NFL Pick, I’m taking them to beat the spread this Monday night.
On the Total Points line, both sides have only topped this total in two of their five respective matches this season.
In fairness to the Bills, their defense is that strong that in two of those fixtures they didn’t even concede a single point.
If the line is to be topped, then I believe the majority of the work will need to be done by Buffalo.
All this points to a low-scoring match. So on the Total Points line, I’m going for under 54.5 to come out on top.
