If he loses, he will be the first one-term U.S. President since Jimmy Carter. Speaking of former President Carter, he was able to cast his mail ballot for Vice President Kamala Harris weeks after turning 100, making him the oldest living U.S. President. Even though he has been in hospice care since February 2023, he previously told his son, Chip Carter, that he was hoping to live long enough to vote for Harris, who is the first woman, first Black, and first Asian American to hold the VP office.
Of course, if elected president, she would make history again as the first woman and the first president of mixed Asian and African descent. Both Trump and Harris are lining up for a strong finish before November 5th. Earlier this month, Trump announced he would hold a rally at Madison Square Garden, in the heart of Manhattan, on October 27th. The Garden, which is the home of the New York Knicks and New York Rangers, hosted the Republican National Convention in 2004 and the Democratic National Convention in 1924, 1976, 1980, and 1992.
