An award and honor that has a significant amount of weight to it, BetOnline recently revealed its very early props regarding the 2025 Heisman race. According to the site, the top four contenders this upcoming season are: Arch Manning from Texas (6/1), Garrett Nussmeier of LSU (9/1), Cade Klubnik from Clemson (12/1), and Jeremiah Smith (12/1) of Ohio State. Of course, each of these contenders brings all kinds of different accolades to the table. Of course, Manning is part of the legendary family of quarterbacks and has been waiting in the wings to get unleashed as the signal-caller of the Longhorns. What’s more, the other two quarterbacks on this list could take their talented teams to the CFP next season if all goes well. Finally, Smith is perhaps the best playmaker in college football after a fantastic 2024.

In this article, SBS will be going over what to look for from the latest gaming updates coming from BetOnline along with some other notes and info regarding SBS and more.

Heisman odds can fluctuate quite a bit as season goes on

Of course, a lot can change as we are not even close to the beginning of the 2025 college football season. For example, one report notes at BetOnline, in 2024, when the Heisman odds opened, Jalen Milroe. Fast forward six months and here were the opening odds for the four finalists: Travis Hunter (50/1), Ashton Jeanty (off the board), Cam Ward (off the board), and Dillon Gabriel (9/1).

Additionally, in 2023, when the Heisman odds opened, Caleb Williams was the favorite. Continuing with the same theme, here were the opening odds for the four finalists two years ago: Jayden Daniels (20/1), Michael Penix Jr. (12/1), Bo Nix (12/1), and Marvin Harrison Jr. (50/1). There was even more fluctuation back in 2022 when CJ Stroud opened as the favorite. Here is what the finalists initially looked like back then the winner Caleb Williams started at 12/1, Stroud at 5/1, followed by quarterbacks Max Duggan and Stetson Bennett who both started off the board.

Noted on the same report, after only one of the last three initial favorites made it to New York for the Heisman presentation, only two of the last 12 finalists had odds better than 10/1, and four of the names were off the board, BetOnline expanded their early list. BetOnline notes that “basically, the Heisman winner is a crapshoot and could be a big windfall to be made if you can figure out just who will lift that bronze statue in 2025.” Additionally, the 2025 Heisman odds are fluid and subject to change. Nonetheless, you can directly link to real time lines at the BetOnline site that goes over all the futures of this competition.

The projected No. 1 NFL pick still up in the air until April

Also covered at the site, if the past tells us anything, the projected top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft is sure to change a few more times between now and April 24th. Recently, there was a major shakeup in projections and odds after Titans General Manager Mike Borgonzi said “we won’t pass on a generational talent with the first pick in the NFL Draft.” After that statement, BetOnline closed and adjusted its No. 1 Selection odds shortly after Borgonzi’s statement as an influx of wagers came in on Hunter at 11/1. Additionally, the odds remained off the board for an hour or so, and they reopened drastically differently. Like the Heisman winner for 2025, you can find all the current odds for BetOnline’s NFL Draft markets straight at the website.

As of this article’s writing, the main jumps in odds come between the phenomenal Hunter, Miami’s star Cam Ward, and also Hunter’s teammate, Shedeur Sanders. Prior to that statement from the Titans, Ward was the overwhelming favorite at -175, followed by Sanders at +150, and then with a big chasm to Hunter at +1100. Now, Ward and Hunter’s odds are gridlocked at +110 which of course has oddsmakers thinking that the two-way star could be too good to pass up at the number one overall spot. However, the NFL is a quarterback-driven league so Ward and Sanders could provide an immediate boost to the Tennessee fan base if they are taken as the top overall selection. Currently, the Titans have some uncertainty at the position with the likes of the inconsistent Will Levis and journeyman Mason Rudolph duking it out so there is certainly a need at the position.
