A star in the WNBA who has the potential to be the face of the league, Caitlin Clark is a very popular player on and off the court. Per the main BetOnline site, at just 22, Clark has already cemented her place as one of the most popular female athletes of all time. With that in mind, BetOnline has rolled out a variety of wagers at its site about what the dazzling guard might do next. Rolling back the years a bit, during her incredible college career with the Iowa Hawkeyes, she became the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer and won National Player of the Year honors twice. The Indiana Fever would then select Clark with the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, which was the most-watched draft in WNBA history. Additionally, she has created the “Caitlin Clark Effect” which has elevated women’s basketball to new heights.

In this report, SBS will be going over the latest gaming news coming from BetOnline along with a variety of updates and notes coming from SBS and beyond.

Clark’s personal life at the forefront of BetOnline props

Noted on the report, you can see the full market odds in the entertainment section of BetOnline. The first highlighted market is whether or not Clark will get engaged next which is marked at +100. Clark’s relationship with fellow Iowa alum Connor McCaffrey has been public since April 2023. Although they have only been dating briefly, fans speculate that an engagement could be on the horizon. There is also a betting market that is the converse of this outcome with her splitting from McCaffrey at +150 on the main website. While this “may seem like a downer,” at +150, bettors have a chance to wager on whether this young love will last. With both being busy and in their early twenties, they may decide to pursue other paths.

Another interesting betting market is whether Clark will attend the Golden Globes (+300). The superstar player is no stranger to the spotlight, and the timing aligns perfectly. With the 82nd Golden Globes scheduled for January, during the WNBA offseason, her appearance isn’t out of the question. Athletes often attend award shows to stay current and connected with fans. Another personal Clark betting market is if she will become pregnant this offseason which is marked at +2500. While this is a long shot, the site notes that the option is there. Given her career focus, it’s unlikely she’d step away from basketball anytime soon, with sports, the report notes, “you never know.” However, with an engagement still not in the picture, a scenario where Clark gets pregnant before a wedding would be very different from her current public persona.

BetOnline features market where Clark leaves WNBA

Unrivaled, a new 3×3 women’s basketball league, aims to give players a domestic offseason option instead of going overseas to earn a better wage. The league is reportedly courting Clark with an offer comparable to Inter Miami CF’s historic pitch and BetOnline has the odds of Clark jumping at +400. This offer reportedly also includes partial ownership and revenue sharing. Her presence would be a game-changer for the league, especially after her debut with the Fever broke attendance and TV records. Per other sources, she has been labeled as a transformative player in women’s basketball and her impact on the game has been likened to that of Stephen Curry in the NBA. Additionally, she is credited with popularizing women’s basketball since her college career at Iowa, a phenomenon known as the “Cailtin Clark effect.” In her senior season, publications attributed a rise in attendance and television viewership to her.

Clark has been instrumental in growth of women’s hoops

The metrics continue from there, as a junior, she helped the 2023 national championship game become the most-viewed women’s college basketball game in history at 9.9 million viewers. Before her senior season, one site notes, her team set the women’s basketball attendance record (55,646) in a preseason basketball game. At the 2024 NCAA tournament, Clark’s final three games each broke the women’s college basketball viewership record, culminating with 18.9 million viewers for the national championship game.

Additionally, in her first WNBA season with the Indian Fever, another report points out, she continued to drive historic attendance and viewership. The Fever set a franchise single-season attendance record, and their regular season finale set the league attendance record (20,711). While her play has drawn the envy of her league counterparts and other commentators, Clark is renowned for her poise and grit at the professional level which makes her next move that much more exciting.
