The 2024-25 NFL season has hit the first quarter of the year and teams are separating themselves from the rest of the pack or looking to hit their stride. In that same vein, BetOnline is back with another awesome promotion in the form of its $150,000 2nd Chance NFL Survivor Contest. Per its website, BetOnline’s $150,000 2nd Chance Survivor Contest begins Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season and continues through Week 18; the postseason is not included here. Registration for this contest opened on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024, and closes on Monday, October 7th, 2024 at 8:05 pm ET. Additionally, if you register for the contest on Sunday, October 6th, or Monday, October 7th, only games that have not started will be available for selection. To win, contestants must select one team to win its game outright each week of the NFL Regular Season.

For this article, SBS will be exploring the latest news and notes coming from BetOnline along with some additional notes and thoughts regarding the site and beyond.

NFL Survivor Contest runs until the postseason

Note on the contest rules page, while contestants must select one team to win its game outright during each remaining week of the regular season, point spreads are also irrelevant in this promotion. Additionally, if the team you select wins, your entry remains alive and you select a team for the following week. If the team you select loses or ties, your entry is eliminated. Once you select a team for a week, that team is not available for selection for the remainder of the contest. Moreover, the contestant(s) that have entries remain alive, without selecting a losing team, is the $150,000 2nd Chance Survivor Contest winner

Per the main contest page, the contest ends on Week 18 of the 2024 NFL season or when there is only one contestant remaining; whichever comes first. I.e. If three contestants remain in Week 15 and two contestants select losing teams, the remaining contestant is declared the winner. If multiple contestants remain alive after Week 18, they will split the $150,000 evenly. Additionally, if a game is canceled or postponed for any reason and the game is not played before the following Wednesday, both teams scheduled to play in that game will be graded as losers. If you selected either of these teams you will be eliminated from the contest; however, your buy-in will be refunded. As always with these contests, BetOnline reserves the right to modify the rules of this contest without notice.

BetOnline contest picks are made on a weekly basis

To make your weekly pick, the site notes, simply select the team you think will win its game outright. Each game locks at its associated kickoff time and once a pick is made, the selection may be changed at any time until the game locks. At this time, the selection is confirmed and may not be changed. Moreover, you must submit picks for the current contest week before 8:15 pm ET on Monday night and if you do not select a team by this time, your entry will be graded as a loss and be eliminated from the contest. If a team is not available for selection this indicates the game has been already locked, the team was previously selected or the team is on a ‘Bye’ week.

Once you select a team, a confirmation will appear on your screen informing you that your selected pick was saved successfully. If you still have additional entries, keep repeating the procedure until you have submitted your picks for each entry. Selecting an entry will automatically load the matchups for the current NFL week.

Prize pool features accumulating cash value amounts

Per the site at BetOnline, the 2nd Chance Survivor Contest features an accumulating prize, starting with a guaranteed prize of $150,000. If the total entry fee exceeds $150,000, the additional funds will be added to the final prize. Prize money, the site says, is paid as a cash prize with no rollover requirements. Prize money is credited to the contestant’s BetOnline accounts within 72 hours after completion of the contest and prizes are non-transferable.

Contestants must have a valid BetOnline account to register for the contest. Also, contestants can participate in the Survivor Contest by purchasing at least one entry at $30 per entry. Moreover, contestants can participate in the Survivor Contest by purchasing at least one entry at $30 per entry and contestants can enter the 2nd Chance Survivor Contest up to 25 times with additional entries available at a discounted rate which is covered at the site.
