The new NFL season has started the year with a bang and BetOnline has a variety of awesome promotions for you to check out. For this article, we are going to take a closer look at BetOnline’s $200,000 NFL MegaContest which is a free handicapping contest that runs Week 1 through Week 18 of the 2024 NFL regular season. The postseason is not included per the website. Registration for this promotion opens on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024, and closes on Sunday, January 5th, 2025 at 4:25 pm (ET). Contestants must have a valid BetOnline account to register for the $200,000 MegaContest. Finally, the $50,000 season-long prize pool is awarded to the contestants who make the most correct picks during all 18 weeks of the 2024 NFL Season.

For this report, SBS will be going over the latest gaming news and notes coming from BetOnline along with some more notes and thoughts about the website and beyond.

Eligible patrons have free registration with two entries

Noted on the BetOnline website, the contest is free to enter and contestants can receive a maximum of two (2) free entries. Moreover, contestants with a valid account receive one (1) free entry, and contestants who have made at least one deposit of $25 or more via cryptocurrency receive an additional entry. If you have not made a deposit to your BetOnline account via cryptocurrency, you can visit the cashier and make a minimum $25 deposit to unlock your additional entry into the contest. Per the site, please allow up to one (1) hour after making your first crypto deposit for your additional entry to appear. MegaContest picks can only be made online and you cannot make picks via phone, chat, or email.

Customers accrue points by selecting ATS game

Per the site, contestants must pick five games against the spread (ATS) every week of the NFL regular season. The contest opens for the new week every Wednesday at 12:00 pm ET. The point spreads are determined by the odds available in the BetOnline Sportsbook at the time the weekly period opens. Once the contest point spreads are released for each game, the odds will not change for the week.

Also specified on the website, once a pick is made, the pick saves automatically. Additionally, contestants may submit and/or change picks at any time until the specified start time of each game. At the specified start time, games are no longer available for selection and any pics involving that game cannot be changed. Contestants earn one (1) point for every correct pick and a half-point (0.5) for a push. Additionally, contestants who submit less than five picks only receive points for selected games, and contestants who do not submit selections will not receive points

Contestants, per the website, cannot select the same side twice or select both sides of the same game on a single entry. If a game is canceled and/or postponed, the game must be played by 2:00 am ET on Wednesday of the following week in order to earn points in the MegaContest standings. In the event that a game is not completed during this time period, selections on the canceled/postponed game will be graded as a push. The NFL regular season must consist of at least 12 weeks for the BetOnline MegaContest to be considered official. If the regular season is shortened to less than 12 weeks, the MegaContest will be cancelled and the $50,000 season-long prize pool will not be awarded.

MegaContest features $200,000 in prizes and awards

According to the main contest rules at BetOnline, the $200,000 MegaContest features $150,000 in weekly prizes and $50,000 cash in the season-long prize pool. The $150,000 in weekly prizes is split equally into 18 equal prizes of $8,333 in Free Bets each week. The weekly prize is awarded to contestant(s) that correctly pick five (5x) games in an NFL week

If numerous contestants qualify for the weekly prize, the prize will be split evenly amongst all winning contestants. To qualify for the weekly prize, you must wager $25 or more in real money through the BetOnline sportsbook, live betting, or casino platform during that week of NFL action. Moreover, a full prize table can be found at BetOnline and weekly prizes will be paid as Sportsbook Free Bets with a one-time (1x) rollover requirement. Finally, the $50,000 season-long prize pool is awarded to the contestants who make the most correct picks during all 18 weeks of the 2024 NFL season.
