If you are a regular reader of this space, you know that BetNow’s Grand Slam Contest is a fantastic promotion for baseball fans. What is different this season though is that the site has decided to up the ante by going from $10,000 weekly prizes to $25,000 per week. Per the main BetNow website, BetNow will be giving away $25,000 per week until the end of the regular MLB season. For this contest, all players have to do each week is select the straight-up winners from the 28 MLB games with the tiebreaker. As one might assume, this contest has already kicked off with the regular MLB season and will keep going as the boys of summer keep rolling along.

For this article, SBS will be going over what to look for from the latest news coming from BetNow and also some more thoughts about using the website.

BetNow stipulates that winners need perfect week picks

According to the main contest rules page for the $25,000 BetNow Grand Slam Contest, the contestant that picks the perfect week, meaning that all picks for that week won with the exact tiebreaker total – will win $25,000. Only one entry per household is allowed here (which is normal in BetNow contests) and if more than one person wins the $25,000, the prize will be equally split among the winners. Consolation prizes will be given out weekly to the top five scoring participants, and again, in the case of a tie, the prize will be equally split among the winners. Moreover, the monetary amount for consolation prizes is based on the number of entries.

Similar to other baseball BetNow promotions, all house MLB rules will apply to full games. Per the main rules page, all canceled games are given no points and are counted as a loss. For regular BetNow contestants, the next stipulation will be a familiar one. The tiebreaker will be the grand salami for the given week. For those not familiar, the grand salami is the total number of runs scored during the entire week. Also, to reiterate, the customer simply needs to pick the straight-up winner not against the line for it to count and there is also no rollover attached here as well.

Rays and Braves are the current top dogs in MLB standings

As of this article’s writing, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Atlanta Braves are the two leaders in their conferences, respectively. The Rays have jumped out to an electric start this season behind an amazing offense and a league-leading run differential of +121. They are the current pacesetters in the American League. Meanwhile, in the National League, Atlanta is barely holding off the Dodgers for top honors in the Senior Circuit. Both teams should be jostling for the top spot all season long and have related odds on the BetNow MLB futures page.
