Who’s ready for some NL East baseball? Now that baseball is in full swing, we can dive into some of the best matchups on the schedule at least once a week. Eventually, there will be a few more games along the way. For now, we have the rival Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves facing off from Truist Park in Atlanta Georgia at 7:10 pm EDT. The Phillies vs Braves bets dig into what promises to be an intriguing contest.

It goes without saying, but the prevailing spotlight is on Atlanta’s poor start. Yes, the Braves lost their opening seven games of the season in some pretty strange ways. No team has made the playoffs after an 0-7 start. If any team can overcome these odds, that probably would be the Atlanta Braves. That being said, it’s a long way to the top.

No one can complain about early season baseball as an MLB fan. It can be more adventurous for bettors early on, however. When it comes to Phillies vs Braves bets, anything can often happen. With Taijuan Walker pitching, this game should be anything from dull.

According to the 2025 best betting sites, the Phillies are shockingly underdogs for this one, as they’ve been given +110 to +115 odds per the prime MLB online betting sites. The Braves are the favorites at -110. It will be interesting to see how this game will go, but we have a feeling the Braves are due for a win here. If one is considering making some other picks, be sure to check our top SBS betting guides to help you get ready for the action.

The Braves Are Favored To Notch A Big Home Win

Meanwhile in the NL East, the Braves are favored to notch a big home win on Wednesday night. Like we mentioned above, this opening couple of weeks has not gone the way Atlanta, their fans, or even experts could have predicted. The Braves broke out the other day to win their first game of the season against the Miami Marlins. Naturally, the next day they get shutout 4-0. It truly has been that kind of 2025.

It’s going to be a bit different to get used to Atlanta maybe being a mediocre team. Sure, there is a long way to go in the baseball season but something does feel different. Grant Holmes does have some electric stuff. However, his control can be fleeting and he does tend to give up some gopher balls err home runs. Holmes gave up seven and another one in his opening start of 2025.

With pitching like Atlanta has, few expect their record to be what it is. However, not even Chris Sale has been like he was last year. Atlanta has been impacted by bad luck, bad pitching, bad offense, and a whole lot of ugly. Sometimes things start this way and never turn around. The Texas Rangers won the World Series a few years ago and languished their way to a sub .500 season trying to defend their crown.

As you might have been able to guess, the Phillies vs Braves bets with their -110 betting odds are still worth a bet. Honestly, the Braves snapping out of their funk has to happen eventually. Philadelphia is cruising in first place and has a large cushion already. The Phillies are due for a bit of a letdown on Wednesday night.

Phillies vs Braves Bets Start To Expand Horizons

Do not forget we have more. Phillies vs Braves bets start to expand horizons. Everyone understands that Bryce Harper and the Phillies offense is highly feared. The Phillies averaged almost five runs a game in the past two seasons and had scored 45 runs in their first nine contests at press time. Some good news for bettors is that Taijuan Walker is taking the mound.

The Phillies are quite a team but Walker can be a bit of a weak link. He did have an excellent opening start. However, the pitcher is more than capable of giving up plenty of runs. Walker went 3-7 in 15 starts last season for the Phillies with an ERA over 7. His career number is 4.17. At almost 33 years old, one has to wonder how much Walker has in the tank if this games goes south. It is why the over is liked so much.

This is a matchup that the Phillies should have no trouble scoring runs especially with this game taking place at Truist Park. Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber are big offensive cogs. Schwarber is off to one hot start with four home runs and eight runs batted in. Atlanta has struggled mightily offensive but Marcel Ozuna has walked 13 times and has five runs batted in.

Again, Atlanta is used their little launching pad and so is Philadelphia. Runs should be on the docket and Atlanta over 4.5 runs is currently Even. That is another wager to try and run with on Wednesday night.

Some Final Notes On Phillies vs Braves Bets

Yes, the Phillies vs Braves bets like quite a few potential game and team props for Wednesday night. Our advice would be not to take the NRFI (no-run first inning) on this one. Again, this is a game that can escalate in pace quickly. Good luck!
