On the money line, Atlanta is -163. The New York Mets are at +149. Ahead of the second match of the series, Atlanta was -189, and New York was +173. The closeness of the two games has influenced the moneyline odds.

The season is still young, but both franchises have played enough matches for form to count. Atlanta sits top of the NL East with a 7-3 record. The Mets are fourth with a disappointing 4-7 record. Significantly, the Mets are 1-5 at home and 3-2 on the road.

As we’ve just mentioned, the Braves have gone into big leads in both matches in this series. New York has come back well in both, showing that they have plenty of fight, despite their 4-7 record in 2024.
We do have to ask how often can New York keep coming back against a team as good as the Braves. They have done it twice now. But eventually, the Braves are going to put them to bed.

We feel the only way New York wins is with a high scorer. So it may be worth backing over 9.5 runs to cover that. But for our main pick, we are going for Atlanta to win and cover. They are odds against, at home, and playing against a side with a poor record so far this season.
