Game 4 of the 2023 MLB World Series takes place at Chase Field tonight, and it feels like a must-win for the Diamondbacks if they are to keep their dreams of winning the 2023 World Series alive. The Rangers won the first match 6-5, needing the extra innings to secure the win after an exciting back-and-forth opening match. After running the Rangers close in Game 1 and thrashing them in Game 2, the first home-field match for Arizona represented a real chance for the Diamondbacks to impose themselves on this series. Instead, the Rangers took the honors with a 3-1 win.
Texas did the damage in the third innings, and it was again Corey Seager who was the man who broke the Diamondbacks. Seager hit the ninth-inning home run in the first game to take the match to additional innings. And he scored a two-run home run (his second of the World Series) to down the Diamondbacks again in the third match. The Rangers’ pitching roster then squeezed the Arizona offense, only allowing them one score in the eighth inning.
The win sees the Rangers extend their extraordinary road record in the postseason to 9-0.

If the Rangers can remain undefeated on the road, they will win the World Series for the first time in their history. But surely, Texas can’t go 11-0 on the road in the postseason? That would be extraordinary. But could anyone confidently back against it at this moment in time?
