Manchester City kick off the 2023/24 Premier League season away at Burnley. Pep Guardiola’s team is the dominant force in the English game, and the latest Premier League Futures betting says the defending champions are favorites to win the title again. Here we look ahead to what promises to be another exciting fight for the title and name our soccer betting picks for the upcoming season.
Manchester City are the favorites in the English Premier League Betting. Pep Guardiola’s team has won the Premier League for the past three seasons, and they are -138 to win the title again for the fourth year in succession.
City’s closest rivals are Arsenal. The Gunners ran them close last season and are the second-favorite at +500. After Arsenal it’s Liverpool at +800, and then Manchester United at +1100. They are the four sides expected to occupy the top four spaces at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Occupying the top four in England is a big deal. This guarantees a team a place in the Champions League. The teams looking to prove the best soccer betting sites wrong and break into the top four are Chelsea (+1200), Newcastle United (+1400), Tottenham (+4000), Brighton (+5000), and Aston Villa (+15000). Outside of that group of teams, it’s hard to see anybody else challenging.

Manchester City looked head and shoulders above everybody else in the English Premier League last season.
Okay, so at one point, Arsenal did have a decent-sized lead over the champions at the top of the table, and the Gunners even went favorites. But when it came to the crunch, they were found wanting.
Arsenal have strengthened their squad for the upcoming season. But the big difference between this season and last for Arsenal is last year they had no Champions League to worry about. They had a free run at City, and still couldn’t finish above them. So what chance of the Gunners achieving that when they’re also competing in the Champions League?
Elsewhere, Manchester United are making changes to their squad with Erik ten Hag bringing in his players. And Newcastle United will have similar problems to Arsenal, where they will be expected to compete on two different fronts.
We feel the Champions League will rule both Arsenal and Newcastle out of the running to win the Premier League.
Manchester United are going through a period of transition, and even Liverpool is ringing the changes with the likes of Roberto Firmino, James Milner, and Jordan Hendeson all having left the club, and taken a lot of experience with them.
As a result, we can only see Manchester City winning the title again. But a dark horse bet could be Chelsea, who now have the experienced Mauricio Pochettino in charge, and who won’t have any distractions from Europe. The Blues did that badly last year, they didn’t even make the Europa Conference League.
For our main pick to win the Premier League, we’re going for Manchester City. It’s almost impossible not to.
But for our outside pick, we’re going for Chelsea at odds of +1200. They were a mess last year, and it will take a lot of work to turn the Blues around. But if Pochettino can get the team playing, they could be a great outside bet.
In the betting to finish in the top four, Manchester City are -2000. They are followed by Arsenal at -200, Liverpool at -188, and Manchester United at -138. Outside of the four favorites are Chelsea (+125), Newcastle (+150), Spurs (+333), Brighton (+550), and Aston Villa (+800).
We expect Manchester City to take one of the spots, and we also think that Chelsea will get back into the top four this season. Liverpool and Manchester United will be there or thereabouts. And it would take a big call to say Arsenal won’t make it.
But we’re not convinced of the betting value with a lot of those teams. We’re happy to back Chelsea at +125, and for an outside bet to finish in the top four, how about Aston Villa at +800?
Villa had an incredible second half of the season under Unai Emery, and if they carry that form on in the new season, they will be well in with a chance of making it into the top four and the following season’s Champions League.
The three favorites to go down are Luton (-300), Sheffield United (-163), and Bournemouth (+200). Two of the three favorites, Luton and Sheffield, are newly promoted from the Championship, with Bournemouth the team joining them.
Outside of the leading three candidates are Nottingham Forest (+250), Burnley (+275), Everton (+300), Wolves (+300), and Fulham (+350).
A lot of people seem to be talking up the chances of Burnley following a runaway promotion from the Championship last season. But we feel at +275, they are a good bet to go down. We also think there has been a lot of doom and gloom surrounding Wolves in the off-season. And we like the look of them going down at +300.
But with Luton, Sheffield United, and Bournemouth, there is a chance at least two of the three spaces are already taken. In the betting to finish bottom of the table, Burnley are +1000, and Wolves are +1200. We think they are two far better value-for-money picks.
