The NFL season has reached the business end of the season as the top teams in the NFC Division go head-to-head for a chance to compete in the divisional final.
The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Los Angeles Rams as they look to get back to the Super Bowl in 2025, while the Washington Commanders travel to take on the Detroit Lions after their big win last time out.

A huge game is set to take place at this stage of the NFL playoffs as the 12-5 Washington Commanders look to extend their playoff run further. A 23-20 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend was the first time they have won in the post-season since 2020.
They’ll be coming up against a Lions team who went 15-2 and dominated the NFC Division in the regular season, and are looking to head to the Super Bowl for the first time in their history. Detroit are coming off their bye after having dispatched the Vikings in the final game of the NFL season to claim the number one seed.
The Commanders’ big win came as a result of their excellent defense and a big fumbled snap from Baker Mayfield, and they’ll come up against a side who have been riddled with injuries recently. But the bye has allowed players to recover and that’s a big opportunity for them to now step up and show out.
The Lions (15-2 SU) were the NFL’s best team on the line at 12-5 during the regular season. They’ve won outright 10 straight against NFC opponents, and they’re 2-1 ATS on lines of eight points or more this season. While that’s a big number for a post-season game, if Detroit get themselves an early lead it will force Washington out of their shell and that will allow the Lions to go on the prowl for a comfortable victory.
When it comes to the points total, expect plenty and that means taking the over even at such a high bar.
These are two of the absolute best offenses in the entire NFL this season, ranking third and fourth in EPA per play, first and fifth in success rate, and first and fifth in points per game.
The Lions can attack defenses on the ground and through the air while the Commanders can torch teams through the air thanks to Jayden Daniels.
Defensively both teams have question marks and clear weaknesses. The Lions still have injury problems and the Commanders have been holey in defense, so everything points towards big points.

Philadelphia are looking to get back to the Super Bowl for a second time in three seasons this year, and they’re well on track after a fantastic 14-3 regular season record. They’ll have to beat the Rams however, who went 10-7 and still managed to claim a post-season spot beyond the Wild Card round thanks to a big 27-9 win over the Minnesota Vikings last time out.
The Eagles dominated their game against the Green Bay Packers with a 22-10 win themselves, and now come into this game as -6 home favorites to reach the divisional final once more.
Before these teams even take to the turf it’s worth realising that Philadelphia are by far the better team and have a big edge on their opponents. Philadelphia is the best two-way team in the entire NFL, and while their offense was run-heavy in the win over the Green Bay Packers they also have an array of passing weapons on their side.
The Philadelphia defense has been dominant down the stretch, and when these two teams met in Week 12 it was a dominant win where they restricted the Rams to minimal success throughout the game.
Considering the form of both teams, the way the season has gone and the earlier meeting between the sides, Philadelphia at -6 is the perfect value bet for this game.
When it comes to the points total, expect Philadelphia to keep the score down here. The Rams are a team who like to pass their way to points, and the Eagles excel when it comes to stopping those plays.
The Rams are relatively one-dimensional in their offense and once Philadelphia get to grips with that, this should be a comfortable win for them. But for the high-points total to land they’d need a dance partner and we just don’t see it.
Philadelphia can claim a one-sided win that doesn’t have a lot of points. Ten of their games this season went under the 44 point mark, while seven of the Rams games went under that total this season. Back it to happen again.
