After another exciting election, Donald Trump is set to return to the White House in 2025 and MyBookie has some new specials related to the president coming back into office. One of these prop betting markets is related to “who will Trump pardon in his first 100 days.” Per the main site, the main favorite here is the incoming president pardoning a “January 6th protestor” at -1000. Following that, another individual that could potentially be pardoned is former American enterpriser, Ross Ulbricht (-200 on MyBookie). Known as the “Dread Pirate Roberts,” Ulbricht is currently serving life imprisonment for creating and operating the darknet market website known as the Silk Road from 2011 until his arrest in 2013. The rest of this list goes over a bunch of different notable and fascinating options that could potentially be options for pardons in 2025.
For this report, SBS will be going over what to look for from the latest gaming news coming from MyBookie and also some other thoughts and notes you can only find at SBS.
Noted on the site, and the overwhelming favorite to occur per MyBookie, the “January 6th protestor” being pardoned is a massive favorite because there are so many of them that have been arrested. For those not aware, on January 6, 2021, the United States Capitol Building in Washington D.C., was attacked by a mob of supporters of then-president Trump an “attempted self-coup d’état” two months after his defeat in the 2020 presidential election. Noted in some reports, the FBI estimates that between 2,000 and 2,500 people entered the Capitol Building during the attack, some of whom participated in vandalism and looting. As of May of this year, of the 1,424 people then charged with federal crimes relating to the event, 1,060 have been sentenced, 64% of whom received a jail sentence.
Per many sources, some participants in the attack were linked to far-right extremist groups or conspiratorial movements, including the Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, and Three Percenters, some of whom were convicted of seditious conspiracy. In a very controversial event, Trump and other elected Republican officials have since promoted a revisionist history of the event by downplaying the severity of the violence, spreading conspiracy theories, and portraying those charged with crimes as “hostages and martyrs.” Of course, with Trump winning the new election, one could perhaps think of the thousands of different convicted personnel, one would be pardoned soon. A notable inclusion here is Enrique Tarrio, then the chairman of the Proud Boys, who received the longest sentence, a 22-year prison term. There are many other notable January 6th individuals who could be in line for a pardon if they have received enough favor from President Trump or his cabinet members.
Noted above, Ulbricht was the main creator and operator of the darknet website, the Silk Road in the early 2010s. Per one report, the site operated as a hidden service on the Tor network and facilitated the sale of narcotics and other illegal products and services. In October 2013, the FBI arrested Ulbricht and took the Silk Road online. In 2015, he was convicted of engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise, among other criminal charges, and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
While the above two options are the only two choices on MyBookie without a “plus” associated with it, there are a variety of other intriguing and controversial choices here. At +200, former NSA intelligence contractor and whistleblower Edward Snowden is highlighted on the list along with former Trump advisor, Steve Bannon, also at +200. Another activist, Julian Assange (+225) is noted on this list as the founder of WikiLeaks published a series of leaks regarding national intelligence agencies.
Finally, following these individuals noted above, Trump himself is noted on the list at +400 to be pardoned. The incoming president has had a variety of legal troubles prior to winning re-election, but of course, he could still get rid of those issues in office. Following that, former New York City mayor Eric Adams at +950 is noted as another candidate for being pardoned. Of the longer shots on this list per MyBookie, former FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried is on here at +1500 after a massive financial fraud scandal with his company. Finally, entertainment mogul P.Diddy is the last candidate here at +4000 who could be pardoned given his entertainment ties to Trump, but given the odds here, it is very unlikely the two will reconnect.
