NBA preseason is firing along and the regular season is coming back into full swing which means that the annual tradition of checking out the BetNow Weekly NBA Contest is here. As regular readers of this space are no doubt aware, there will be $10,000 given away per week until the end of the NBA regular season. According to the site, all BetNow eligible clients will have one FREE online entry into the BetNow Weekly NBA Contest. Each week, clients must select the straight-up winners from 14 NBA games with the tiebreaker. Each winning pick will be awarded one points and final results will be posted by Wednesday every week. Also, for this promotion, the tiebreaker is denoted as the “total pts in game(s) mark as (tb)”.

In this article, SBS will be exploring the latest gaming news coming from BetNow, along with some more notes and information regarding the website and beyond.

Weekly NBA Contest also features consolation prizes

The NBA Contest at BetNow follows similar rules as other promotions at the website. Per the main page, only one entry per household is allowed and prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged. Additionally, the consolation winners will be the top 20 scores every week and the contestant that picks the perfect week; meaning that all picks for that week won with the exact tiebreaker total – will win $10,000. If more than one person wins the grand prize of $10,000, the prize will be equally split among the winners.

Consolation prizes will be given out weekly to the top 20 scoring clients. In case of a tie, the prize will be equally split among the winners. The monetary amount for consolation prizes is based on the amount of entries. Winners will also be notified via email within 48 hours of the weekly contest final. Per the main rules page, all entries must have a valid email address and should a winning notification be undeliverable, it will result in disqualification. Judges’ decision is final here, no rollover is attached and of course, you must be an active client of BetNow.

BetNow tabs Jokic as favorite to win the NBA MVP

In addition to NBA promotional contests, BetNow has a variety of other NBA betting markets, some of which have been covered in this space before. This also includes which players will take home the award for best in the league this season aka the MVP. As of this article’s writing, the favorite at BetNow for the 2024-25 MVP is Denver’s Nikola Jokic at +290. A six-time NBA All-Star, Jokic has been named to the All-NBA Team on six occasions (with four first-team selections), and won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award three times as well including last season. Known as the “The Joker,” he helped the Nuggets win an NBA Championship in 2023 and was also named Finals MVP during this championship run.

Another top choice from BetNow is Dallas’ Luka Doncic who is currently slated at +300 on the site. Another spectacular star, Doncic, like Jokic, is regarded as one of the greatest European players of all time. At only 25 years of age, he has had a stellar career thus far. He has been recognized as a five-time All-NBA First-Team selection from 2020 to 2024. During last year’s campaign, he led the Mavericsk to their NBA Finals appearance, Doncic is also the Dallas franchise leader in career triple-doubles, and also holds the record for most points in a Mavericks’ season.

Dark horse contenders litter BetNow power rankings

Expanding off the two top choices above, there are a handful of other interesting candidates for MVP this season highlighted at BetNow. For instance, the Thunders’ Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is recognized at +450 for the crown this season. A two-time All-NBA selection, SGA is perhaps blossoming into the perennial MVP candidate that the Thunder arre hoping he will turn out to be year in and year out. After dealing with injuries in the early portion of this career, SGA was named to his first NBA All-Star team in team, when he finished fourth in the league in scoring with 31.4 points per game.

In terms of other notable names on this list, Minnesota’s rising star Anthony Edwards (+1100) is expected to compete for a championship this season and also other accolades if he can continue his ascent. Also, two big men in Joel Embiid (+550) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (+700) are other great contenders for the big award. Of course, with so many excellent stars it is easy to see why there is no easy choice for MVP next season according to BetNow.
