betnow betting news september 2024

While the NBA regular season is not quite here, NBA training camp is heating up and betting markets are already anticipating who will be taking home the Larry O’Brien Trophy next year. Per the main betting markets at BetNow, the favorite to win the NBA title next season is the Eastern Conference at -130 while the Western Conference checks in at even odds. What’s more, the website also had futures odds pertaining to who will win the NBA Finals in 2024-25 not only by conference but also by division as well. As of 2024, the Eastern champions have a 41-37 advantage in NBA titles over the Western champions. Of course, the most recent being the Boston Celtics who have won 18 titles, the most of any team in the league.

For this report, SBS will be going over what to look for from the latest gaming news coming from BetNow, along with more notes and information regarding the site and beyond.

BetNow favoring the NBA Atlantic Division to win again

Also noted on the main BetNow NBA betting markets page, are a variety of divisional futures prop betting markets. This includes which division will win the NBA Championship in 24-25. Per the site, the main favorites here are the Atlantic Division at +110 and also the Northwest Division at +200. In recent memory, the Celtics, Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, and Milwaukee Bucks have all won championships. In the NBA Atlantic Division, the Celtics return as perhaps the title favorites for next year, led by a sensational squad piloted by all-NBA player Jayson Tatum. Meanwhile, the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers could make a splashy run toward the title, but both of these teams have faltered in the postseason before. Of course, Boston is the main team here to watch for, unless injuries undo Joe Mazzula’s squad.

Meanwhile, the Western Conference’s best bunch lies in the Northwest Division with a handful of title contenders. This includes the Denver Nuggets and perennial MVP contender, Nikola Jokic. Also included in this division is another awesome squad the Minnesota Timberwolves which features an awesome star player in Anthony Edwards. Both teams could make noise again in 2024-25 as they vie for a championship ring. Jokic and the Nuggets of course have already won a title, but Edwards and the T-Wolves are hungry for one as well.

In terms of teams favored to win the Western Conference, the Timberwolves (+400) and Nuggets (+350) are both excellent choices from BetNow to represent the West in the NBA Finals. Conversely, the Celtics are the overwhelming favorites to win the Eastern Conference at +110, but of course, this could change if the hyper-competitive Atlantic Division heats up moving forward.

Thunder are strong divisional and conference pick

While the other squads covered above are certainly strong contenders, SBS would be remiss in not mentioning the Oklahoma City Thunder who are not only a strong pick in their division but the Western Conference as a whole. Per the odds at BetNow, the Thunder are the favorites at +300 to win the west in 2024-25. Buoyed by a strong young core of players, OKC has an opportunity this upcoming season to bring a championship back home. Thanks to the likes of Chet Holmgren and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder are a very talented squad that creates mismatches for their foes. Like the Celtics, the one thing working against them is that they are in a stacked Northwest Division with the Timberwolves and Nuggets, but are still recognized as the favorites here at -115.

Orlando Magic are dark horse contenders in the East

Noted on the same report, while the Miami Heat (+125 to win the Southeast Division) are still a mainstay competitor, another squad that could make waves in the East is the Orlando Magic. The Orlando squad is currently marked at -165 to win their division and make a return to the NBA postseason. The talented young team has a strong core of players like Paolo Banchero, Jonathan Isaac, Jalen Suggs, and Franz Wagner. Banchero especially is one to look for after being selected with the first overall pick by the Magic in the 2022 NBA Draft. After a stellar first campaign, he was named as the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2023.

Last year, the Magic won their division with a record of 47-35 and while they were bounced in the first round of the playoffs, they could make another strong run given their fantastic core. In fact, the 47 wins were the most the Magic have had in a season since 2010-11
