Max Verstappen has claimed victory in both editions of the Miami GP since its inception in 2022 and is heavily favored in betting circles to continue his dominance.
With four wins out of five races this season, Verstappen shows no signs of easing up. Following his retirement from the Australian Grand Prix, Verstappen bounced back with consecutive wins in Japan and China. His odds are -700 to win in Miami.

Max Verstappen is widely expected to secure another victory, reflected in his current odds of -700, the shortest odds he’s seen this season. By comparison, his odds for the previous race were -550.
Notably, Verstappen triumphed in the previous event, marking his fourth win of the 2024 season. The only race he did not win this season was the Australian GP, where his RB20 experienced a malfunction.
As usual in this era of formula one, there is not much value in betting on Verstappen to win. There is more money to be made from betting on other markets.
Sergio Perez, Verstappen’s teammate at Red Bull, secured second place in the Miami Grand Prix last year, with no other competitor coming close to challenging the top two spots on the podium. Perez has been a regular presence on the podium this year, apart from missing out on the Top 3 in Australia. He has achieved second place three times and third place once. Although Perez claimed victory in two races early in 2023, Verstappen has maintained a firm hold on the top position throughout this season.
I am predicting Perez to finish second.

Lando Norris has encountered challenges in South Florida, retiring from the inaugural race and finishing in 17th in 2023. Despite this, he enters Miami on a positive note following a second-place finish at the Chinese Grand Prix, his best result this season.
Norris is aiming for his maiden victory. After a rocky start in 2023, he managed to secure second place six times in the last 13 events. Therefore, the Norris arriving in Miami this week is markedly different from the one who struggled on this track in previous years.
For a more speculative option, Fernando Alonso could be a promising bet to finish on the podium, offering good value. Alonso is a top driver and has recently had some strong performances. Just two weeks ago, he set the fastest lap in China. Additionally, Alonso has a fondness for Miami, having secured a third-place finish there last year.
The Miami International Autodrome made its F1 debut in May 2022 as a temporary circuit designed to emulate a permanent track experience. Located within the Hard Rock Stadium complex in Miami Gardens, home to the NFL’s renowned Miami Dolphins franchise, the circuit was developed through an extensive process that involved testing 36 different layouts before settling on an exhilarating 19-turn configuration. This layout provides a street circuit atmosphere reminiscent of Melbourne’s Albert Park.
The inaugural Miami Grand Prix in 2022 marked Florida’s addition to the F1 calendar, making it the second US race alongside the one in Austin, Texas. Miami became the 11th American venue to host a round of the Formula 1 World Championship.
