This Sunday night is the annual All-Star Game, with the East and West Conferences meeting in the annual showpiece event. The Western Conference is the favorite, and in our latest NBA betting picks, we tell you if they are worth betting on to win.
This is showtime within the NBA. The regular season will take a break this weekend, and instead, fans will be treated to numerous events, including the showdown match between the best players from both conferences.
This will be the second time Indianapolis will host the match. The other was in 1985 at the Hoosier Dome. It also marks the return of the East vs. West format, last used in 2017.
Doc Rivers is the man who finds himself in the chair to coach the East after only a handful of matches in charge of the Milwaukee Bucks. Celtics’ head coach, Joe Mazzulla, qualified but is ineligible, having carried out the role in 2023. Over in the West, Chris Finch of the Minnesota Timberwolves got the gig this year.
Not diluting the quality in any way is the two captains. Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Bucks will lead the East. With LeBron James, all 39 years of him, leading the West.
The best NBA All-Star Game betting sites favor a win for the Western Conference. And it’s hardly surprising. Chris Finch has names like LeBron, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic, and Luka Doncic on this team. Heck, Devin Booker and Steph Curry only made the reserves lineup.
The West is -150 to win on the money line, with the Eastern Conference at +125.
And the East team isn’t exactly loaded with slouches, though. They are boasting Jayson Tatum, Tyrese Haliburton, and Damian Lillard. This is in addition to their captain, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
On the handicap spread line, the East is receiving a 3-point start and is -110. To win and cover the spread, the West is -110.
On the total points spread, 363.5 is the line set by the best NBA betting sites. This is exceptionally high. But it’s worth noting that this is an exhibition match. So don’t expect too much onus to be on defensive work. The players are here to entertain the crowd and viewers at home.
Both over and under 363.5 is -110. Below are more options from different sportsbooks on our NBA betting table. You can read more about the bookmakers we have used on our online sportsbook reviews page.
2024 NBA All-Star Game Match Betting | |||
---|---|---|---|
Eastern Conference | +125 | +125 | +125 |
Western Conference | -150 | -150 | -150 |
Western Conference (-3) | -110 | -110 | -110 |
Eastern Conference (+3) | -110 | -110 | -110 |
Over 363.5 | -110 | -110 | -110 |
Under 363.5 | -110 | -110 | -110 |
Both lineups are stacked with quality, and all will want to impress. It’s almost impossible to pick a star performer who will make a difference in the match. But if we have to, look to LeBron.
He warmed up for the match with a 25-point haul against the Pistons on Tuesday. The man is evergreen and shows little sign of slowing down. We expect LeBron to lead the Western Conference to victory. So, our NBA All-Star match betting pick is for the West to win and cover the spread.
As this is an exhibition match, we are also going to have a bet on over 363.5 points. The spread was originally at 353 but has since been lengthened by the sportsbooks. They already know what’s coming.
As we mentioned, there will be little defensive work on view on Sunday. The players are out to enjoy themselves. We are making over 363.5 points our second pick on the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.
Another popular All-Star weekend event is the 3-Point Contest. The odds range from bookie to bookie, but with BetOnline, Tyrese Haliburton leads the way at +450. Haliburton was third in the event 12 months ago.
Other candidates featuring at the top of the betting are Karl-Anthony Towns at +500, with a trio of players tied at +550. One of those at +550 is Damian Lillard.
Lillard was the winner in 2023 with a hit percentage of 65%. He is joined at those odds by Malik Beasley and Trae Young. Jalen Brunson is +700, just ahead of Lauri Markkanen (+800) and Donovan Mitchell (+850).
The 3-Point Contest is one of the other most popular events of the weekend. The fans love it, and it will generate a lot of interest. Damian Lillard has been in good form lately. He won it last year, and this is one of those events that has had back-to-back winners throughout its history.
We think it makes sense to back Lillard to win the 3-Point Contest again. But we are going to hedge our bets and also pick Tyrese Haliburton to win. If either wins, we are in profit.
