The Toronto Raptors (+115) will be looking to improve on their average home record when they face the Phoenix Suns (-135) at the Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday night. It won’t be easy, as the Suns head north of the border on a winning streak of seven. And as we’ve seen in the past, when the Suns get on a roll, they can be hard to stop. Here in our latest NBA betting picks, we tell you if the Suns are going to make it eight wins from eight.
The Suns started the season with four defeats in their opening six matches. They have since bounced back to form and are now on a seven-match winning streak.
As we witnessed in the 2021/22 season with the Suns’ 18-match winning run, they can be unstoppable once they get going. And it was at a similar stage of the year that they embarked on their record-breaking run, with the first win coming on October 30th and ending on December 3rd.
Okay, that was two years ago, and a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then. But what the previous and current winning streaks highlight most is that the Suns are one of the franchises that need to be taken seriously in the betting to win the 2024 NBA Championship.
Speaking of which, let’s take a look at the latest betting to win the 2024 NBA Championship and find out what the best NBA finals betting sites think of the Sun’s chances.
The current favorite to win the 2024 NBA Championship is the Boston Celtics. So far this season, there has been a bit of maneuvering between the four early betting favorites. Boston started as the +425 second favorite. But after starting the season strongly, the Celtics are now favorites to win the Championship at +375.
The preseason favorites were the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks started at +400 after they traded Damian Lillard in from Portland to play alongside superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. Things haven’t gone totally to plan for Milwaukee. But on Sunday night, the Bucks completed a 26-point comeback to beat the Trail Blazers.
The win is the largest comeback in the league this season, and who knows, it may spark the Bucks into life after a stuttering start to their campaign. Milwaukee is currently the joint-second favorite to win the NBA Championship at +450.
Also on +450 is the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, with the Phoenix Suns at +650, roughly where they started the season. They are the four franchises that have led the betting all season.
Outside of the four favorites are the Golden State Warriors at +1200, and the Philadelphia 76ers at +1500. For the record, the Toronto Raptors are +20000. It’s fair to say, the sportsbooks don’t see the championship title coming to Canada in 2024.
Onto the match betting, and although the Raptors have a home-field advantage, they are still the underdogs to win tonight. The best NBA betting sites make the Phoenix Suns favorites to win on the money line at -135. The Toronto Raptors are +115.
On the handicap line, the Suns need to overcome a 2-point deficit to cover the spread. Phoenix is -110 to win and cover the spread. The Raptors are -105 to win with the spread.
Finally, the bookmakers are saying 222.5 on the total points line. Over and under are both -110.
Below are more options from different sportsbooks on our NBA betting table. You can read more about the bookmakers we have used on our online sportsbook reviews page.

The Raptors home record is 5-4. They haven’t been in great form recently. It seems to be a bit of a case of win one, then lose one. They did start the season with plenty of optimism, and after they defeated the Bucks 130-111 in their fifth match, Darko Rajaković thought his team might have turned a corner.
Since that night at the Scotiabank Arena, what we might refer to as normal service has resumed for Rajaković and his team. Whenever they have faced elite opposition since that magnificent win, the Raptors have fallen short. They were well beaten by the Celtics in Boston a few days after (117-94), and Milwaukee also gained revenge, winning 128-112 at the Scotiabank Arena just over two weeks after their shock defeat.
Whilst all of this has been going on, the Phoenix Suns have been on a seven-match winning streak. Their most recent win was a 116-113 win over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. Devin Booker was the player who sealed the deal with a late 3-pointer, which was the difference between the teams.
Winning games like that is a good sign. It tells us that a team is fighting for wins to the last millisecond. The Suns are also 7-2 on the road this season (4-4 at home). They look far stronger away from the Footprint Center. As a result, the Suns to win and cover the spread is our betting pick for this match.
