For all of your UFC 292 betting needs, SBS has your back with a breakdown of each championship fight in this article. In the main event of the evening, Sterling squares off with Sean O’Malley in a battle between two fighters who have their own distinctive strengths. UFC Men’s Bantamweight Championship overview: Aljamain Sterling (c) vs. Sean O’Malley

Fighter Spotlight: Aljamain Sterling

In terms of UFC 292 betting, this main event matchup should garner the lion’s share of wagers this Saturday. Sterling enters this bout on a nine-fight winning streak and just recently broke the record for most consecutive UFC Bantamweight title defenses (3). In his last outing, he was able to narrowly defeat Henry Cejudo earlier this year at UFC 288. While he won the title in controversial fashion (he is the first fighter to win a championship via disqualification), the “Funk Master” has earned his title as champion. Recognized as the No. 6 fighter in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings, he is among the sport’s most notable stars.

Fighter Spotlight: Sean O’Malley

Another fighter that is among the UFC’s most talented and recognizable (thanks to his signature colorful hair), O’Malley is aiming for history in his first-ever UFC title fight. Competing out of Helena, Montana, “Sugar” should have the Boston crowd fired up in this battle as he attempts to dethrone Sterling. The challenger has had a lot of rest time prior to this fight, with his last bout occurring in October of last year, a split-decision victory over Petr Yan in Abu Dhabi. Known for his sensational knockouts, he has accrued 11 in his career, O’Malley does also have a slight age advantage over Sterling, being six years his junior.

Prediction: O’Malley has accrued multiple Performance of the Night/Fight of the Night accolades in his career, but look for Sterling to hang on once again thanks to his veteran savvy.

UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship breakdown: Zhang Weili (c) vs. Amanda Lemos

Fighter Spotlight: Zhang Weili

Another decorated fighter, Weili is well-known in her division and is coming off a spectacular win over Carla Esparza for the Strawweight Championship. With only three losses in her pro career (she lost her debut fight), only one fighter has been able to figure out Weili: Rose Namajunas who she fell to twice. That said, Namajunas lost her title to Esparza, who subsequently fell to Weili via rear-naked choke at UFC 281 in New York City. Another hard-hitting fighter, the Chinese competitor has won the majority of her bouts via knockout (11) but also features some strong grappling ability (eight submission wins).

Fighter Spotlight: Amanda Lemos

Opposing the champion is Lemos who is another fighter with sensational knockout ability. With a career record of 13-2, the Brazilian is fresh off two solid victories. In her most recent bout, she knocked out Marina Rodriguez via TKO (punches), and prior to that, was able to submit Michelle Waterson in a Performance of the Night showing. In terms of common opponents, the one that sticks out is Jéssica Andrade who Lemos fell to via submission (arm-triangle choke) in April of last year. That said, Weili was able to overcome the same opponent in August 2019 (a first-round TKO win) to begin her first reign as UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion.

Prediction: While this will be another great fight, Weili will not be giving up her title easily here after she worked so hard to regain the belt.
