F1 is back for the fifth race of the 2023 season in Miami, Florida as Max Verstappen continues his bid to become a world champion for the third consecutive season in his Red Bull car by getting back in the winning column.
The Dutch driver has had a fantastic start to the season winning two of the opening four races this season, and as a runner-up behind his teammate Sergio Perez in the other two races who comes into this race full of confidence.
We’ll take a look ahead to the second race ever in Miami and see if we can provide you with some extra cash for the season with our best free F1 betting picks.

Below you’ll find a list of the drivers favored to win in Miami.
The Red Bull star claimed 20 podium finishes in the last 23 races, so if there was any doubt about who the best driver in Formula 1 is right now then it’s misplaced.
After cleaning up in the championship last season, Verstappen was targeted by many as the man to beat this season. He started perfectly though, claiming a win in Bahrain and Australia while being the runner-up in both Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan most recently behind his teammate Sergio Perez.
The Dutchman became the first man to win the Miami Grand Prix last year and would love to do the same again here, but his performances haven’t been at their best this year and the value for the bet isn’t quite there this time.

Sergio Perez claimed two race wins over the season and finished third in the Drivers’ Championship for 2022, but showed his quality and talent whenever Verstappen and Red Bull needed him to step up.
He’s done the same this year, winning races in Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan while also coming in as the runner-up in Bahrain. Australia wasn’t good for him though, as he finished 5th after a really tough race where things just didn’t click.
Last year in Miami he came fourth behind Verstappen and the two Ferrari’s, but there is no doubt that right now the title race is between the two Red Bull cars.
The team seem to be allowing them to battle it out right now on the track, and with Perez performing brilliantly it wouldn’t be a shock to see him go back-to-back and surpass his season wins for last season already. It will be incredibly tough, but Perez has the value and is our F1 pick to win in Miami.
2022 seemed like a missed opportunity for Ferrari and now 2023 has started pretty poorly too for both the team and Leclerc.
The Monaco native has had big issues with his car this season and picked up a massive ten-place grid penalty in Saudi Arabia, which meant he only managed to finish in 7th to add to his DNF in the opening race in Bahrain. He then didn’t finish in Australia either, but finally got on the podium in Baku last time out in third.
Last year in Miami Leclerc started the race on pole but had been overtaken by Verstappen by the end of lap nine and never reclaimed the lead. His poor season so far this year leaves little indication that will change in Miami.
He is a more than capable driver if given the opportunity, but the car looks like it’s going to let him down and a win here would be a shock.

The former two-time world champion’s move to Aston Martin was seen as a way to make him competitive again in the title race, and he has had a solid start to this season.
Alonso has had a fantastic start to the season, finishing in third place consecutively in each of the first three races of the season. Unfortunately though he fell out of the podium places last time out in Baku, but only just as he finished in fourth place.
Last year in Miami Alonso finished outside the points in 11th place in the inaugural Grand Prix, and will want to keep up his great start to the season so far this time around in a far better car.
However that car just simply can’t keep up with the Red Bulls so it would need something monumental to happen for him to jump them in the queue and claim the win, so it’s probably best to avoid this bet.
