In what should come as a surprise to few, current sitting president Joe Biden is the strong favorite to be the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee in 2024 at least according to MyBookie. According to the site’s updated betting markets page pertaining to the U.S. presidential election next year, President Biden is the solid favorite at -330. While we have covered these sorts of odds in this space before at SBS, this is the first time in 2023 that we have checked in with U.S. politics. Moreover, this is the first time we have taken a look at all the presidential candidates from one American political party as opposed to the whole race. While it remains to be seen if Clinton will want to make a return run, it would not be out of the realm of reason here.
In addition to some usual political heavyweights for the party, the MyBookie page also has betting markets for interesting, and also peculiar, longshot picks. For instance, in the +10000 range, you will see contenders like Microsoft founder and world-renowned philanthropist, Bill Gates, alongside superstar actor, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
