The 2022-23 College Football Playoff bracket is set and four squads are left with a chance at immortality with an NCAA Division I Football national championship. In the first battle of the day, TCU squares off with Michigan in the VRBO Fiesta Bowl. Michigan will be without the services of fantastic running back Blake Corum though and will have to deal with a scrappy Horned Frogs squad. Later in the day, No. 4 seed Ohio State takes aim at the undefeated Georgia Bulldogs (13-) in the Chick-fila-A Peach Bowl. While the Buckeyes will have plenty of star power, the Dawgs will be a menacing force in their home state of Georgia.

For this article, SBS will be going over what to look for from each squad, along with predictions for the games, and some more notes about NCAA football betting.

NCAA Football Game One Overview

Team Spotlight: TCU

Led by a swaggering head coach in Sonny Dykes, TCU is making a dramatic run into the CFP after running through the Big 12 this season. With a perfect 9-0 conference record, the Horned Frogs certainly have shown they can win in all types of situations throughout the year. While TCU fell to Kansas State in the Big 12 Championship earlier this month, they still have a blistering offense that can hang with most in the country. Quarterback Max Duggan spearheads the attack with 3,321 passing yards and 30 touchdown scores this year. What’s interesting about the Horned Frogs is that they have won in every situation from blowouts (Iowa State) to nailbiters (at Baylor).

Team Spotlight: Michigan

A squad with a head coach that has an ever bigger personality that Dykes, Jim Harbaugh, and Michigan have had their best season in years and have their sights set on a national championship. While they will be without stud running back Corum, the Wolverines were still able to blitz past all competition this year to the tune of a 13-0 record. With an offense that scores over 40 points per game (40.1) and a defense that allows less than two scores a contest (13.1), Michigan is in great shape to make a run at the championship. In perhaps the marquee matchup of their season thus far, the Wolverines dunked on hated foe Ohio State on the road, 45-23, showing they can compete on the highest stage when the lights are the brightest.

Prediction: A game with the markings of a classic, this one will be a fun shootout but give the Wolverines the edge given their more talented defense

NCAA Football Game Two Overview

Team Spotlight: Ohio State

With some added rest and time to lick their wounds from their loss to Michigan during Thanksgiving weekend, the Buckeyes will be ramped up for a showdown with Georgia. Quarterback C.J. Stroud has been marvelous this year for Ohio State and scorched opposing defenses to the tune of 37 passing scores. His favorite target this year has been wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. who had a masterful campaign with 1,157 receiving yards and 12 scores of his own. While Ohio State did fall short of another Big Ten crown, this could be a perfect opportunity for a huge bounce-back win.

Team Spotlight: Georgia

The new kings of the SEC, the Bulldogs were able to once again vanquish the Alabama Crimson Tide and take their sport in the CFP final four. Though the two squads never matched up together during the regular season, the Dawgs were able to put together some marquee wins like blowout victories over No. 11 Oregon (49-3), No. 1 Tennessee (27-13), and No. 14 LSU (50-30). Certainly, a squad that is no stranger to the national spotlight, the defending national champions are a daunting foe for any team thanks to their efficient offense and overpowering defense. Only allowing 12.8 ppg this season, Georgia can suffocate most, if not all offenses in the country.

Prediction: Another very interesting matchup, the Dawgs will just be too overpowering in Atlanta with their home crowd roaring behind them
