As the heavyweight boxing scene is at its absolute best in this millennium, there are two British fighters readying themselves for battle against one another for the prize of the WBC and The Ring Heavyweight titles.
Tyson Fury will put the titles he earned via knockout victories over Deontay Wilder on the line when he takes on mandatory title challenger Dillian Whyte on April 23rd, 2022, with the fight expected to take place at Wembley Stadium in London.
We’ll break the fight down and take a look at the best betting picks for the bout in order to earn you some extra cash while you watch two behemoths try and take each other’s heads off.

There is a huge disparity in the betting odds for this fight and it isn’t a surprise in the slightest to see Fury installed as the heavy favorite to win.
Fury comes into the fight as the reigning and defending champion, with an undefeated professional record of 31-0-1 including two wins over Wilder, a win over Wladimir Klitschko, Derek Chisora, and Otto Wallin in his career.

In the challenger’s corner however is a super underrated heavyweight fighter in Whyte, who holds a professional record of 28-2 with his only losses coming against Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin, who he then knocked out in their rematch in the following fight.
That defeat to Povetkin was his only defeat in his last 12 fights and he has been the mandatory challenger for several years now, but the Wilder-Fury trilogy held it all up for a long time. He has got 19 knockout wins in his career.
Whyte is currently seen as a +400 underdog with MyBookie Sports betting, meaning a $100 stake would see $400 in profit come back your way should be pulled off one of the biggest shocks in recent boxing memory.
No matter how this fight goes, Fury will go down in history as one of the most unique and best heavyweight fighters of all time.
An undefeated record as it stands is his biggest selling point, but it’s his pure boxing technique rather than raw power that sets him apart from the rest of his rivals at the top of the division.
Despite standing at 6ft 8′ and weighing in at 278lbs for his most recent fight, his jab is a thing of beauty and his mobility in the ring is the closest thing we’ve seen to Muhammad Ali‘s ‘float like a butterfly’ style in the heavyweight division since the greatest of all-time was in his prime.
His footwork is tremendous, his reading of the fight allows him to pace himself in a way that other big men simply can’t keep up with, and then he also has the power in his hands to knock people out if given the opportunity.
His performance against Wilder in their second fight where he earned a seventh-round knockout win was one of the best in modern memory, as he totally annihilated the then-undefeated American in his own backyard to once again be crowned champion.
He has earned 22 wins by knockout in his career.
But Whyte will offer raw aggression in the ring that Fury has never had to contend with, which is blended in well with actual boxing technique and skill.
Whyte had a reputation as a brawler before his only other title shot in his career against Joshua, but after getting KO’d in the seventh round of that bout he took a step back and came back with a more refined game.
He works his jab well, attacks the body often but continues to walk forward with a mentality that he wants to take your head off.
His right hook is as powerful a punch as there is in boxing behind Wilder’s overhand right and if he lands cleanly, he has the ability to put Fury down just like Wilder and others have done before him.
Despite the obvious talent that Whyte has, there aren’t many heavyweights that can get in the ring with Fury and really compete on a level that makes a fight close.
Wilder was nowhere near as good a boxer as Fury and it showed throughout their trilogy but he had the great equalizer of his power punching that could close gaps on scorecards and in people’s minds.
Unfortunately for Whyte, while he has good power himself, it’s not close to Wilder’s and he doesn’t have the size advantage to land cleanly often either.
Whyte is ‘only’ 6ft 4 with a reach of 78 inches in comparison to Fury’s 85 inches. The weight difference is likely to be around 20 pounds based off their last weigh-ins, so even if Whyte closes the distance that Fury will put between them he is likely to get leaned on and drained of all his energy.
If it comes to pure boxing technique then there isn’t a heavyweight on Earth that can contend with Fury. Whyte has shown incredible durability throughout his career and come through wars, so I don’t expect Fury to do enough to earn a finish but it will likely be a very wide decision win for the champion to retain his titles.
